For all its supposed flaws that people can't stop bringing up (no, no vested interests at all there), the nationwide National Broadband Network put in place by our Australian government at the time means I have a fibreoptic cable right up to my house in country Australia and it's great. I get even faster speeds than

Try and find a copy of a book called "Josh Hartnett Definitely Wants To Do This" by Australian director Bruce Beresford. It's about his travails to get a film (any film) made during a particularly fallow period of his working life.

I wasn't too worried as it was the most superficial penetration and I washed it out but it still drew blood and you never know, almost everything in medicine is an odds game.

This is definitely one of the episodes that helps show how much the character of Cordelia Chase grew from her earliest appearance to her final one in Angel Season 5.

Waiting for the results of my serial Hepatitis C tests after a freak accident at work wasn't the greatest time of my life. I wasn't worried about HIV as that's actually harder to catch and we can actually do more about that at the initial point of contact if necessary (thank you Niverapine for being there if I ever

Well, I'm hoping she's not one to hold a grudge.

Even as a not even remotely white person, I had to upvote this as I am both a strong believer in Science (!) also as a Scientician myself of a sort, I generally find this one's argument very compelling and this is no exception. Must be the delivery on top of everything else.

Rocky IV is another classic example of reality and fiction colliding and things ending badly as a result. In the film, somehow even though Apollo Creed is beaten to death within a round, Rocky can fight a full match against a chemically assisted Ivan Drago and not only survive but eventually knock him out.

I don't have a problem with talky parts in action films, in fact I prefer them when done right to make an action film more cerebral if done right. Wall to wall action, even when done well can be extremely boring.

I know, I've heard exactly the same thing which is why I framed what I said very carefully. I've decided to compromise only watching his films if I don't have to pay for them from now on (before any lawyers for entertainment companies get excited, that means watching them on TV, planes etc). Sole exception for Edge of

Well, you know, it's healthy to not be too immersed in these things says the person who used to be able to sing the theme in Japanese despite not knowing the language (that came after) and actually saw Rebuild 1.0 in a cinema in Japan sans subtitles …

… much to the annoyance of everyone waiting for Evangelion Rebuild 4.0. We're not (well, I'm not) saying he shouldn't have done it, for sure it's a huge opportunity but given 4.0 is supposed to the conclusion and its been spread over so many years already, the waiting the waiting the waiting …

Probably redundant trivia to many of you but what we call Neon Genesis Evangelion is known as Shin Seiki Evangelion in Japan, which more literally translates to "New Century Evangelion" (so "Shin Godzilla" - New Godzilla, I guess).

I know this isn't the important thing from all this (and that) but … well, it's just that I've been here a long time (admittedly on and off) and I'm thinking, I should know who this is - and yet, I don't even remember ever seeing an MLA … ? Why don't I know who this is?

I really liked Oblivion (but the main reason wasn't the usual one - it was the really tragic love triangle I liked the most, plus discovering who Andrea Riseborough was, thanks to that film) and Edge of Tomorrow was a lot of fun, especially the first half with him playing at least a little against type.

Obligatory "It can be two things!" reference.

But …. but …. you don't swing that way!

There was another newswire where allies and detractors (well, one - well you know who, that's why I'm whispering) were all referring to MLA and I had no idea who they were talking about. The penny only dropped when I saw someone use that same abbreviation here (not before with all your other posts).

If your best enough isn't good enough to compete in the Olympics, then you don't get to compete. Same with apologies. If they're not good enough, they don't get accepted. It's not beyond the realms of possibility he could be taught to do better next time (because odds are, there will be). Well, not totally beyond,

Compare and contrast Luc Besson where Roman Polanski was concerned. I think they are/were friends or at acquaintances when he said this - as opposed to a lot of people who signed the petition (I don't know if they've even met but guess who did?).
