So!  Mr. Simpson.  You admit you grabbed her can!

Unconsciously (at least I hope so), Dennis Franz as Homer's evil cackle became the laugh I use when I find something really, really funny.

Duvall is so great in this. It reminds me a little bit of how awesome he was in To Kill a Mockingbird and how much he could do with just Boo Radley's physicality.

Hirohito Ga-me-RA!

The monsters of Monster Island (nee Peninsula) are a color-tinkered Mothra, Gamera (without tusks) and Rodan (who looks a little bit like Anguirus in the chestal area).
Gotta love the booming Toho music that plays in the clip too.

It is indeed!  But Bond's Mom still makes him get a tattoo removed in Moonraker, so I'm gonna give 'em the point.

One of the brilliant things about the show is that at least once we've seen murders based on imagery from Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs, meaning if Fuller gets to do his season with the later story he'll be able to create new context for certain plot choices based on what he's established with these new sort-of

He had a crush on you and was generally terrified of rejection?

It seems like there is some variation of the following every week, but seriously: Suck it, Family Guy.  This is how you do a reference joke.

In HANNIBAL, that bit with Will trying to convince Jack that Georgia Madchen was murdered and realizing that he's being targeted by a serial killer was my favorite moment so far, if only because Hugh Dancy's acting is phenomenal.  I can't think of another actor able to play increasing terror at the things he's saying

Julie Kadavner's delivery on that, especially following "You'll stay here until you're no longer insane!" is among three or four funniest line readings.

Wanted to second the love for The Hit.  Stamp, John Hurt, young Tim Roth, up to no good in Spain.  Oddly sincere film.

Without going into too many specifics, are there any nice monsters in this?  Like Godzuki or Booska?

Hey Erik, I liked this piece.  I think that your description of Dr. Lecter as Holmes without the moral center is pretty on-point, especially in Fuller's conception.  The Will/Hannibal antagonism seems more than a bit Holmes/Moriarty.

Okay, which one of you guys gave my . . . daughter the dope?

Are you sure you didn't meet her at Universal Studios?  I remember buying a little plush Rocky there when I was a kid and getting my photo taken with a bronze statue of Wossamotta U's most famous alumni.

Daniel Craig would absolutely crush in the part and you know it.

Rocky asks Bullwinkle if he thinks something strange is going on.  Bullwinkle replies, "In a word, you can bet on it."  Rocky reminds him that that's five words.  Bullwinkle says, "But I'm a heavy tipper!"

"You, you're, you have no traceable motive!  Which is why you were so hard to see.  You were just curious what I would do.  Someone like me, someone who thinks how I think.  Wind him up, and watch him go.  Apparently, Dr. Lecter, this is how I go."
Pretty swell note to end on, but don't wanna wait 'til 2014 AT ALL.
