We screened this for Halloween at my school a few years back. Packed house and the kid next to me HATED it. Every five minutes or so he would cover his eyes, shudder, say 'Shit!' - but to his credit, he stayed through the whole thing.

Zoe Bell has spoken about how, for 'Death Proof,' she had to re-learn how to act so she wasn't hiding her face all the time (being a featured performer rather than a stunt double). Her spending the movie hiding her face seems like a typical QT inside joke. Also - Tom Savini was another one of the gang!

My understanding was that since Jimi Hendrix's estate came down hard on the producers of Withnail & I for including his music in the film, the clearance issues have more to do with how protective they are of his image than with prohibitive costs.

Klugman was amazing. His commitment to character elevated some of his Twilight Zone moments that might have been too sentimental otherwise. The ending speech from his last episode, "In Praise of Pip," is devastating.

Agreed. In the original script Master's tirade is longer and nuttier and he refers to the guy as both 'pig shit' and a 'slimy little piece of cum fuck' but not the swear in question, which is awesome.

My favorite scene from THE MASTER (and any movie this year, I 'spose) was the alt-take of Freddie's Rorschach test. Funny, weird and Phoenix's facial tics are fantastic.

I was watching a few episodes of the show with some friends and as soon as they saw the early Scarecrow's orange American Apparel turtleneck tunic thing, they were immediately laughing about it. The fact that Crane basically just runs around dosing college kids with Salvia made it very easy for them to peg him the…
