I'd go with:

Absolutely. I'm a huge Cure fan and, for me, Gallup's bass is just as essential to their sound as Smith's voice and guitar.

That's about as good a description of Mood Swings as I've ever heard. It seemed like, with the band in serious disarray at the time, Smith just decided he should try to make another version of Kiss Me because why not. The style jumping was there, but the songwriting wasn't (Want and Jupiter Crash excepted).

I really like Forgiveness Rock Record and would recommend it. The self titled album and Spirit If are both good as well, but not as consistently solid as FRR in my opinion.

Joy Division had so many good songs considering the short life span of the ban, but my favorite has to be "Dead Souls." It builds perfectly from the sort of creeping dread of the beginning bass part to the maelstrom of guitar toward the end.

The problem of what to call the movie was exacerbated by the fact that they expected it to be a success and spawn sequels, etc. "Warlord of Mars" or "John Carter of Mars" would both have been better titles, but they are also both names of later books in the series. If the movie had been a smash, then it's almost

I totally agree, Death in Vegas have put out some great records. The last couple have been heavily electronic, but "Contino Sessions" and "Scorpio Rising" aren't quite as easy to pigeon hole. And even though it's totally comprised of electronic instrumentals, "Satan's Circus" is my favorite DiV album. Definitely worth

I'm not a big FSOL fan in general, but "Dead Cities" is a fantastic record. Definitely an acquired taste, as you say, but well worth taking the time to get into in my opinion.

I'm glad to see "Sad Professor" getting some mention. It's always been my favorite song on "Up", which really is a pretty good record.

Good god! I own, or owned, 17 albums on that list including the top six. Still have most of them. In fact, Dusk by The The is one of my all time favorites…

Despite the limited output, Ride is one of my all time favorite bands and "Going Blank Again" is one of my all time favorite records. I remember being incredibly disappointed when "Carnival of Light" came out, although I have warmed to it over the years. Some really good stuff, but not as solid as the earlier stuff in

They couldn't call it "John Carter of Mars" because that's the title of the last book in the series and I'm sure the books are going to be re-released along with the movie. The first book, which this film is theoretically based on, is called "A Princess of Mars" which probably wouldn't have drawn many people to the

Totally, totally disagree about "Collapse Into Now". In my opinion it's their strongest record since at least "Hi-Fi" and maybe even "Automatic". Super solid.
