I think her emotional scenes in Mad Men are pretty good, though even then, she tends to be somewhat reserved. The only time I've seen her in an interview is when the cast of Mad Men went on Inside the Actor's Studio. She seemed nice enough, but pretty serious. I wouldn't be surprised if Betty Draper ends up being her

That's a fair assessment, though I think January Jones is fantastic on Mad Men. I haven't seen her much otherwise (she was kind of terrible in X-Men: First Class, though I still thought she was less annoying that Rose Byrne), but I think she's pretty much perfect as Betty. It's too bad Matt Weiner can't seem to give

That's me pretty much every time I come on A.V. Club.

I want to agree because he was great in the pilot, and I kind of like him in general, but the pilot is literally the only episode of Boardwalk Empire I've seen so far.

Which episode did Jon Hamm direct? I kept looking for his name at the end of the title credits, but I never saw it.

It's about time they finally realized that Glee is a shitty show (and has been pretty much since the second half of season 1). But of course, they had to compensate by giving American Horror Story - Ryan Murphy's other show - 17 nominations, which ties with Mad Men for the most nominations of any show and is flat-out

In general, I really, really don't like Julia Ormond, but she was surprisingly good on Mad Men, and I'm completely fine with her getting a nomination. I'm also happy for Jared Harris, though I was hoping that Vincent Kartheiser would finally get recognized.

I would have nominated "Signal 30" over "Commissions and Fees" for writing. You could maybe argue that "Commissions and Fees" had better acting (though I would still probably disagree, even though Jared Harris was fantastic in that episode), but no way it had a better script than "Signal 30". "Far Away Places" and

The sad thing is that I can't even muster enough energy to be mad about it this year. After they snubbed him (and the show) for season 3, I pretty much gave up.

Vincent Kartheiser is still the only regular cast member on Mad Men who hasn't gotten an Emmy nomination yet. It's not surprising, but it still infuriates me. Yeah, his character is more or less a psychopathic dick, but Kartheiser has been amazing since the first season; I honestly can't imagine anyone else pulling

I'm honestly shocked that Neal McDonaugh didn't get a nomination (he was submitted as supporting). Personally, I thought Walton Goggins was even better, and he wasn't as breathtaking as Margo Martindale was, but he still did a fantastic job in an extremely showy role. It seems as though the Emmys would eat that shit
