I think the problem is it took them a while to figure out a consistent set of personality traits for nucky to have. i've been happy with his characterization since the end of season 2, it has stayed pretty on point since then. still think buscemi was miscast as an irish political boss.

i think said hammer film is coming up next week

I've always felt Gillian was Roger's best persona after Ricky Spanish.

I gotta agree, that was an awesome performance and I think that could have been an amazing character in the long haul. not going to complain about having depth to short-lived characters though.

this is really a good review. Zack Handlen you are my favorite reviewer here, apparently.

@avclub-27c4f74efceea9a2e842815436828e8f:disqus she was still a big girl when she chose to do that role.

Also I think Jimmy's mom is great. Yes, she's insane and over the top, but those are the kinds of characters you get on Boardwalk Empire.

Holding out hope for Patricia Arquette—she had great chemistry with Steve Buscemi (something that is less common than it should be on this show) and her character seemed pretty non-stereotypical.

Better to record BB and fast fwd through commericals.

CHALLENGE US

look chloe sevigny is a grown woman and she does what she wants to do. judging other people's sincerity when they're making an off-the-reservation film like that is just refusing to open yourself up to what they are trying to show you. it's art, adults can make art. not every depiction of a woman doing something

haters gonna hate

Good point phodreaw. I feel like you could be right, although I honestly feel like Hannibal's portrayal in that book really didn't plausibly connect with the character as we'd seen to date. My hope is that if Fuller and co. incorporate that backstory into the show it will gel better.

Presumably a major point of America is that you *can* say these kinds of things and be tolerated.

Can't believe anyone would ever think the opposite

Really hoping Lance Henriksen comes back and gets to develop that character more thoroughly.

You really aren't missing anything. I don't think that laying out Hannibal's traumatic past is as debilitating to the character as a lot of others do, but making him an avenging angel fighting the Nazis for his first few kills was a bridge too far in my book. Still I trust that if Fuller and co. choose to integrate

Sorry, I was lazy in how I responded to that. I meant that the totem-pole killer on the show committed his murders gradually over the course of decades and most of those kills were ruled to be suicides or accidents. Thus the totem-pole killer maintained a much lower media profile than Dolarhyde, whose mass murders
