I really don’t like the overwhelming, unabashed optimism within it

Both Coraline and ParaNorman were so fantastic. I saw Coraline in theatres (only film I've watched and thought, Wow! I'm glad this is in 3D!), but didn't see ParaNorman until just recently. I wish it had've got a little more play, because beyond the art/animation, I loved the way the story worked and was impressed

Oh excellent, I've been waiting for the Daria spin-off, a live action Sick, Sad World.

I stand by my utterly subjective statement.

Orange Lamborghini? Gross, that's just salt in the wound.

It totally lost me. I couldn't shake the "Teens don't talk like this. I'm 25 and *I* don't talk like this." And to @avclub-f60ac2bfedf3eb5209e7f54adc9556a4:disqus 's point, the characters were super annoying in their inconsistency.

While on the topic of runaways, if you haven’t read Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona’s Runaways, you’re missing out on one of the best teen superhero comics ever.

Fear Itself had some good stuff, but that zombie episode was definitely not one of the better ones. I don't need my short horror to make sense in a grand way, but when the plot is propelled solely by anti-logic, it's pretty tedious.

Maybe we could just get Dourif and Bacon on the next season of American Horror Story.

It's a shit show, to be sure. But I think there was enough stupid in the pilot that it's not… I guess disappointing that the second episode turned out like it did.

So glad you brought up Yoko Kanno, her work is fantastic. I have both GitS:SAC soundtracks and a glut of Macross Plus songs on my playlist.

@avclub-87caf7c42aedbada42572e2374eed08d:disqus Early Teletoon was amazing. Duckman and trashy anime.

Living there helps. They get high on the island we got high on! Not enough swan attacks though.

Oh my god @avclub-489acfbfa4d2424403acb81699170ac2:disqus that is amazing.

Locke and Key would have been a messy mess on Fox though. I'm not sure where it would fit on the tv landscape, really.

Nope! Cancelled Briscoe County, Jr., Profit, and Kindred still rankles.

I saw that posting earlier on a friend's Twitter feed and was put off by the lack of interior photos. What are you hiding, Arcade Fire's Québécois church? This filthy English wants to know.

By the end of last season I was getting so frustrated by this. Most of the episodes feel like they're building up to something if not different, at least interesting, and then it's just cop outs and let downs. I'm not sure whether it's a network thing, or whether it's the writers unwilling to push thing, but this

@olivececile:disqus I'm so happy someone mentioned The Fades. It is not coming back, which makes me a little sad, but I also love sci-fi/fantasy that will just end on a completely dire note.
