Nah, in defiance of Occam I'm going with clones.  Or maybe some trans-dimensional shenanigans—alternates, perhaps?  One universe has been cloning across dimensions.  Probably the fuchsia universe, their Walter is high 60% more frequently than any other.  Including the meth-a-verse.
