I don't know how long its been since you've watched the other Brosnan's, but in my opinion, TND and TWiNE have have aged better than Goldeneye. I think the dreary post-Soviet Russia where a lot of Goldeneye takes place is kind of a bummer and leads to a movie that's just as "dark" as the Dalton's. I like TWiNE as

"I come from the streets. I'm not some candy-ass white liberal looking to turn you into 'better citizens'. I intend to meet with each of you individually but until that time, keep one principle in mind. Don't FUCK with Querns. That's all."

You're right in all of this and unfortunately its a symbiotic relationship between the quality of the writing and the quality of the commentating.

The AV Club's official stance on the Bond franchise does a 180 in the span of a day after seemingly week's of bashing. Funny how that works.

Sith hit higher highs. Its not unlike choosing between a house salad at TGI Fridays or taking a chance on a juicy burger at some dive bar where the glasses are a little dirty and you don't see the cook wearing any gloves.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure if I should upvote this or not.

I don't think the typical Think Piece Writer for the Jezebels and AV Clubs of the world read or research much actual pop culture, but there's a slew of Think Pieces waiting to be written based on what's in the novel.

I thought the trailer looked great but after Gareth Edward's snoozer of a Godzilla movie which featured very little of the big green guy, I wouldn't be surprised if those awesome AT-AT shots in the trailer were the ONLY AT-AT shots in the whole movie.

It pains me to say a movie featuring Jennifer Connelly and Timothy Dalton could be better but that material, in the hands of a hacky Joe Johnson, left greatness on the table.

I really hope its a period piece.
Like a good The Phantom, or a good The Shadow, or a good The Rocketeer, all of which I think had their hearts in the right place but came up short, with the budget and behind the scenes talent to pull it off.

Tangential, but that Bill Simmons show promo spot before Game of Thrones started.. I literally had to change the channel to avoid his smug, faux-irreverent blathering (yes, I know, The AV Club)

You're in for a real treat with Season 2. That set the template for most prestige dramas going forward with its increased serialization plus great stand alone stories.

If you liked the other Craigs, I see no reason why you wouldn't like SPECTRE. I think to some degree the knives were out for it before it was even released (see: all these silly casting controversies). Its not as tight as Casino Royale or (quite) as pretty as Skyfall but Mendes camera still puts SPECTRE several

Speaking of ages, Tom Hiddleston now, is 3 years younger (35) than Sean Connery was when Dr. No was released (32).

I take back what I said about the other person having the whitest comment of the day.

I may enter myself. Think pieces! The Americans! AV Club Comedy Festival!

Yep.

The internet isn't doing its due diligence in ever bringing up the recent movie "Manglehorn" in Harmony Korine discussions.

"Ho ho ho. Merry spring mother fuckin' break."
