My requisite request for a Rome TV Club Classic goes here. I know they fear it won't get a lot of hits, but come on, the people that have seen the show love it. I'm sure they'll easily get to 100 comments an episode when you add in all the amateur historians debating certain aspects of the show. Considering each

Pretty thorough Random Roles for a great actor. I'd just like to note Stevenson's work as the leading man in Kill the Irishman a DTV flick where he stars as a mobbed up Ohio union chief. It features an unintentionally funny scene where a Stevenson plays his character as a teenager(!) courting Linda Cardellini. All

The casting for the supporting players in that movie was very prescient . In addition to who you named, it also featured Joel Edgerton and Hugh Dancy in supporting roles. The fight on the frozen-over lake was an interesting set piece but yeah, overall not a great film.

Don't forget Chris Pine as a guy the industy can't make happen.

Downvote for unironic use of "punching down".

Yep. What happened to "trigger warnings"? I thought those were a good thing, tumblr?

Bryan Singer would like a word with you about that claim.

Yo AVClub, you're missing out on a newswire for that magazine interview Quentin Tarantino just gave where he's quoted as saying "Who the fuck reads TV reviews?" and talks about how he'd watch each episode of The Newsroom three times when it was airing.

Was the whole "Batman doesn't kill" thing really that well established by the time of the Burton movies? Maybe it was because I was young and hadn't read any comics but I thought Batman offing goons and circus freaks was pretty bad ass for the time. I don't think anybody really cared until the advent of the internet

The sickly yellow filter over everything does not make this an appealing show visually. Walking Dead proper gets a lot of crap, and rightfully, so for its Trees, Trees, and More Trees! aesthetic but there is a lushness to it that I think people like. This is just dull and ugly

I've been watching The Knick as well. Although I wished I liked it more than I do. Its less Boardwalk Empire and more like one of those BBC shows like Copper and Ripper Street. Interesting to note that even though, its sort of billed as "A Steven Soderbergh show", he's not the showrunner (which I don't think I

I say we stomp him! Then we tattoo him! Then we hang him! And then we kill him!

I liked The Thing 2011 even with the cgi. Not as much, though, as the one guy in my theater who stood up and clapped at the end when it was all revealed to be a (spoiler, I guess) prequel to the original.

Yeah, I'd bet on that. I just can't imagine Sutter sitting down and doing any actual research on the 14th century. He's bound to come up with some ridiculous scenarios and storylines.

- Marvel Studios

This featurette makes the series look bland and cheap but I'll check it out for the inane Sutteriness that's sure to follow. I can't envision a period show even being able to hold his attention.

I am not the fine man you take me for!

There was color in the last couple Harry Potter movies? Seriously, those movies were way too drab looking.

Well, this website clocked the movie.

I'm checking out the website and I wonder if the ol' alt comedy loving AV Club would put Wet Hot American Summer on blast. Spoiler: 0.0 seconds of dialogue.
