I just recently watched The Great Dictator for the first time. I was surprised by just how frank Chaplin was about the events in Germany and especially what was happening to Jewish people at the time. Apparently it's only one of two films prior to the war (or the United States' entry into the war) to mention the

I hope you get through the book. I'm glad I read In Cold Blood but the discussions it generates are better than the book itself.

I agree. I always like how Ben Stiller ended up appearing on Arrested Development - he came on to set looking for a copy of his wife's appearance and they talked him into being Tony Wonder. Stiller seems like a guys who takes advantage of interesting projects when they come his way.

I haven't actually watched Saved! in forever but my circle of friends still regularly quotes the film. I think it would be a good one to have back in the theater for a night. It would be a fun group experience.

The voice-over took me out of the movie every time. I think it was the disconnect between what I was seeing and what I was hearing as far as body-language was concerned. It's like when you watch a musical and you have that moment when you realize the performer is lip-syncing. It's probably more of a personal issue but

I was more disturbed by the purple zebra-print chair Skyler had to sit in when Marie suggested taking the kids back.

I recently watched Zoolander again and was surprised by Patton Oswald as the photographer, Alexander Starsgaard as one of the male models who dies in the "freak gasoline fight accident" and James Marsden as John Wilkes Booth. Apparently that Ben Stiller guy knows what he's doing with the casting.

I recently watched Spaceballs again with my little cousins and it's really a film that plays better when you're 12 than it does when in your 20s. My main thought at one point was "how did I not realize there were this many ball jokes in a movie called Spaceballs?"

Seven-Percent Solution is one where I didn't appreciate the risk that movie took with reshaping an iconic character when I first saw it. It's risky as hell to take Holmes and go "you know Moriarty? That super-famous villain and the main reason some people watch Holmes movies…Well, he's a cocaine-induced delusion and

Key Largo is one of those films that trades more in "look at all of these famous people!" rather than plot. Bogart seems to have consistently dealt with type-casting throughout his entire career. He would find a new type of character and then do five movies basically playing that guy. As good as he always is, it makes
