idiotking has been completely out of control since George Sr. took off for Mexico.

From what I've read of Brand, he has pretty similar politics to Chomsky. I think I've even read Brand self-identify as an anarcho-syndicalist.

Oops. Wrong thread.

Jacques spent a lot of time working on getting his coif just right (never a problem for me), but it did always pay off in the derry-do diddling department.

I take your point. Back when Gervais, Merchant, and Pilkington had their XFM show they used to ridicule this sort of thing fairly frequently. Some network or station or magazine would put out something like a list of the greatest albums of all time, and most would be selections with which you could stand on ceremony—Ex

Those damned S&M-themed bathhouses… they're like kryptonite to continental philosophers.

Substitute someone like Chomsky in for Brand and this wouldn't be a bad list.

This reminds me of a couple of the more farfetched fan theories that I've read that apparently are taken seriously enough by a sizeable number of fans.

Bald, Manc twat.

Agreed. Another thing that could have helped "sell" the drugging—given its presence in the first place—as potentially funny-not-creepy and a necessary transition is if it would have been tied to them being on a mission from the start. Like when Archer is on the phone with Malory, instead of just repeating variations

I typically picked scary costumes: Universal horror icons when I was younger and American indie horror figures (Michael Myers, Leatherface, Johnny from Night of the Living Dead) later on. My birthday is the day before Halloween, so to me it was like a double holiday and I'd really get into it.

Not much love around here for these stories thus far. I thought they were great—and so were the illustrations. They definitely helped influence me towards being a creepy-minded kid whose favorite holiday was Halloween.

I'd watch an hour of Sid the Cussing Rabbit.

That happened the last time he was here in Columbia, too. I've seen him do spoken word four or five times now and there's always been one asshole in the audience that starts shouting things at him. He's always handled it really well.

He's had a rep for replying to correspondence going back to at least the late 1980s, I know.

Listening to him and MacKaye reminisce about growing up together in D.C. is always a treat.

That's been my impression, too, and I mostly lurk. I was actually surprised by the love Tori Amos has been getting in the comments for the Permanent Record item about Under the Pink today. As a fan of her first six or so albums, I mostly stopped reading anything about her here because of the same effect.

The Newswire item for it was written by O'Neal. That man can work anyone into a frenzy with his writing.

I was born on Devil's Night.

This probably is common knowledge, but when he was with Black Flag he grew his hair long just to piss off the skinheads who would come to the show.
