Hey Tom Waits- Why's it sad that your parents had a birthday for your kid sister? Is that uber-un-hipster now? Or did you mean to place the "(sad, I know)" after the Pizza Hut Pasta?

This post doesnt make any sense. What, is the film version some Libertarian manifesto? This is the first I've ever heard of this? Or are we confusing "Libertarian" with anarchism? I understand that the comic had a pretty strong anarchist subtext.
Are the features on the Blue-Ray going to be significantly different from the DVD?
It didnt speak to me.
@Rollo- Inkers are often the unsung heroes of the comic book. An inker often corrects and "clarifies" unruly penciling and sometimes even has to redraw whole panels. A great inker can often save a book. Unfortunately, when working with a big name "star" artist, inkers often get chastised for deviating too far from the…
Its becuase the coloring is mostly done by computer programs now (and in some cases even the inking is as well).
Ugh, neckbeards. Is there anything more becoming for a fat nerd to wear?
Whenever I see an interview with Frank Miller and he pats himself on the back for "giving Batman his balls back" I want to throw a brick at his face. Miller did NOTHING innovative. Adams was the one who turned the tone of Batman darker in the 1970s. He made Frank Miller's career possible, yet I've never seen Adams…
Sorry, Jimmy. Had a rough morning.
Second Curt Swan. I'd add Dick Sprang as well.
Sorry, I meant "asking", not "aking".
Sigh. So is anyone who speaks up for classic comic strips going to be compared to that douche nozzle Seth? Check my comments on his interview to see what I think of him. McCay had more imagination in his left pinky then Seth could ever have. But if this is a list of most influential, mainstream comic artist, then some…
How Far Back Are We Going?
Why no mention of any of the pioneers of the comic strip, like George Herriman, Windsor McCay, Rudolph Dirks, Richard Outcault, or Charles Schulz. I wouldnt expect all these guys to make the list (I would pick Herriman or Schulz as being most influential), but some nod to the pre-comic book…
Now you're on the trolley!
What Do Hipsters Do For Their Weddings?
Something ironic and unconventional no doubt!
Bucky- Thanks for bringing that issue of NG to my attention. I see your point, but I would prefer it if our government could simply increase funding for scientific education, as they did in the fifties and sixties, as opposed to forcing the scientific community to alter their terminology. I understand your…
You thought right, !. Steampunk explores the social mores of Victorian and Edwardian culture through speculative fiction. Steampunk is a very specific sub-genre, not simply any anachronistic sci-fi.
Alternative History
I first got into the steam-punk subgenre through my interest in the alternative history subgenre of science fiction. I would love to see a Gateway for alt history. I nominate Philip K. Dick's "Man in the High Castle" as the gateway.
