The entire last half of the movie is the girl getting tortured and beat… for like 45 minutes straight.

This list hates found-footage with the passion of a thousand fiery suns, it would seem.

I kinda thought that was a typo until I saw 28 Days Later listed further down. Even the picks I strongly disagree with I can still see how they might make the cut, but 28WL is just baffling.

I've described Pontypool as being not just one of the best horror films, but one of the best films period of all time… up until about 3/4 of the way through. The ending, basically.

It Follows had that botched ending, let's be honest. Everything up until the swimming pool was brilliant, but then… Ugh.

Yes, The Bay is strong, but it seems this list hates the shit out of any found-footage anything.

Ok wait this is bothering me…

Intelligent designers read AVClub? That just seems weird.

I don't really know Eli Roth's story and I'll Be God Damned if I go to wikipedia to find it out, but, does anybody else find it really… weird, I guess.. that Roth is such a terrible actor? And does this explain why his movies aren't so… great?

Like I mentioned in that long ass post I wrote, Lindelof going Full Lindleof is fine. It's what he does best and makes for compelling viewing. I think season 1 worked so well because the crazy was immediately in your face, and the subtle declaration that it won't be explained followed right after. Any other

Ok, I have a serious question I need to get some serious responses for; It is regarding this article posted about a week ago:

The Babadook IMO was one of those "wow overrated, but at the same time still really, really good". It Follows was super strong until the botched final showdown/ending. I've never seen a film drop the ball so hard, but I have sympathy as the hardest part is writing the ending. I think Pan's Labyrinth just barely

I don't want to be That Guy and whine about how my favorite obscure movie didn't make a list, so I'll just offer some recommendations, and maybe somebody can recommend something I haven't seen (highly unlikely, good god I watch a lot of horror movies).

stupid disqus…

I'm actually getting a sorta anti-fight club feeling from this, in that they're throwing it right in our face that Mr. Robot isn't "real" (There's a reasonable chance that he could be real but many of the interactions are not). I think it was shown in their first interaction on the subway, where Mr. Robot just

Are Clifton's reviews archived anywhere?

Wait, he doesn't actually say why it's a bad flag…

It was somewhat a gratuitous and unseemly amount of babies popping out of vaginas, right?

…And the action sequences were bigger than life, they seemed to pop out of the screen, like so many babies popping out of so many vaginas…

Also, there's seems to be a contest for who can be the least whatever the most offensive thing of the day is. Like, yeah, sure, there's not a racist bone in your body, but most of your bones are probably stupid asshole bones so what does it really matter?
