This is the first time I've read through ALL the comments, and you're not the only one feeling this way among the people that are "rooting" for Walt and the people that hate Walt.  There's a subtle clamoring that the shifts have been just a touch too sharp, or abrupt as you say.

I think you nailed it.  It's like an Occam's Razor situation but I just can't admit that Gilligan and Co might've simply just… fucked up.

I think this time I've read somebody say how much they hate Walt while acknowledging how silly it all might be.   Like the look Jesse gives Walt when Walt is talking shit (I know this wasn't the intention of the look…lol) is almost like he thinking, "Uh, Bryan are you sure that was part of the script?"
