Yeah, of all the actors, NPH should be the most pissed off by the ending, since it basically laid waste to everything he worked so hard to sell about his characters changing over the years.

Yeah, its pretty clear when you do good polling that religious opinion is all over the place, even though everyone pretends that they all worship the same God.

I suspect even the Mormons themselves are a little embarrassed by their Jewish emigration to America to being cursed into Native Americans story. Given that when you talk about it, online, you get jumped by 20 Mormons claiming its both a metaphor and the center to their happy family life.

And not just that, that this guy was like a Fish Truther for whales.

I loved how, in the UK, 70% of people said they were Christian, but only 30% of people believed in God. In the same poll.

In general… he's long lobbied for the "Its the end of the world" ending to the show, and I think generally has chaffed at the Marshall character for a while. It was even a one off line in This Is The End, before he fell in a large hole.

Thinking a bit further on it, there is probably also the issue that no actor ever wants to be critical of work they are promoting so soon after its released, because that's part of the game they have to play to get roles further down the road. No one wants to hire an actor that will tank their show on talk shows,

I think even Mulder would have a hard time with it. "Guys, its just aliens okay? Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be."

It would be a nice change of pace to see Ben Afflick star in "They Never Get Together" a story of how love fails to overcome.

I was thinking more that while *I* took that as a possible theme of the movie, I'm not sure if that was the intent of the movie itself.

I dunno, Chasing Amy has its problems, but its nice to see a movie acknowledge that bisexuals exist, and that sexuality isn't always as cut and dry as we think it is, especially since the media doesn't tend to show bisexuals as anything other than big ole sluts.

I really liked the bits of her we saw. It would have been nice to have the sunset be Ted meeting someone who was quirky, fun, and didn't immediately feel threatened by Robin to the point that they needed to issue an ultimatum.

NPH annoyed me too… he thought people were upset because it was serious, and we wanted comedy, and no, that's not the reason. Its because you promised one sort of resolution, built it up, and then delivered something very different that utterly demolished the stuff the show was building up most of its run time.

Comic books seem like a good way to test ideas out for use in TV shows and movies these days, but trying to keep up with a never ending comic book story seems like it would be maddening as a fan.

Is the X-files coming back into pop culture? From what I've heard, the UFO culture itself is starting to die off. Conspiracy theorists are getting into other things, and everyone else is frustrated that the aliens keep turning out to be Venus, out of focus bugs, or stubborn blurs.

Its interesting that while Arrested Development is *the* Bush Era comedy in my eyes, it doesn't age poorly because of it. Making fun of corruption and jingoism is timeless, perhaps.

Am I wrong in remembering that Ancient Egypt was just topless, all the time.

I remember watching a documentary about how amazing the Parthenon is, and it is an amazing bit of work. But since they're the founders of Western tradition, you never hear about the Greeks getting taught by aliens.

Could you imagine the sort of party she'd throw for people she was going to force to shoot themselves? Here's a puppy! And a gun! Do it.

Its a shame it couldn't have been that way from the beginning… everyone forgetting about Mark, forgetting his name. And then he leaves, and poof, gone forever.
