According to IMDB, I am remembering correctly. The change is in the Director's Cut.

The worst move was making it explicit that Donnie's medication was a placebo. The philosophy of time travel stuff I could maybe have dealt with, but doing so while cutting out any and all ambiguity that existed in the film was a mistake that felt so amateurish (especially in it's "twist!" framing) as to call into

The flick usually does the trick.

Yeah, it's CG (at least as of now) and apparently they're trying to approximate the style of the comics and cartoon and it looks "awful." Of course, it's Blue Sky Studios, and their art design is pretty much terrible. Say what you will about CG design (I know your own personal opinion), but the Ice Age films might be

A friend of mine works for the studio and says the screen tests he's seen are pretty terrible.

[Collapses comment; scrubs from brain]

I would, honestly, just give up and go home. Not even worth it.

I've mentioned it before, but those jokes were somewhat ruined by me by my parents telling me the above story was true, and that Norris wouldn't let my mother onto the set of Walker Texas Ranger because she was taller than him and tall women made him feel weak/insulted.

It might be true. But Chuck Norris was scared of my mom, so I would say he would lose so long as Bruce Lee was smart enough to bring a chick taller than Chuck, thus throwing the latter into a self-esteem spiral.

Just upgrade. They're not even expensive anymore.

Yeah, definitely agreed on the "1st Rolling Stone moment" thing.

AFI skated by through embracing pop cheesiness (most of the time), I thought.

I think it's a lot different.

Probably the only thing that would make it worth it.

I remember.

I at least had the excuse of being like 15.

Get ready. They're one of the "classic emo" bands I've already seen getting a lot of reappraisal.

Yeah, it's happening. Stereogum had an article on the "Top Emo Revival Bands" the other week that made me feel hugely uncomfortable. It's interesting to watch Pitchfork and the like (who, I should note, I generally enjoy) bend over backwards to build up the bands and style that these sites made a name for themselves

His opinion on Children of Men aside, D'Angelo is one of the best film critics to ever grace the AV Club.

I did a take down post in defense of Rises, once.
