After all the sequels, its easy to forget that this was actually good…and great when it came out.

You are right. I do sound like an asshole. Having been through a college film program, I still cling to my early 20's mentality of hating the women in film class. As a matter of fact, I actually failed the first time I took it (not cause I'm a chauvinist but because i was "distracted" by other recreational school

Too funny because in my above post, I was going to mention he was in O' Brother. He plays one of the governors crew.

The wierd alien cook guy: He still pops up in movies from time to time.

That's a great point. Everything got lumped into this thing called Grunge and in retrospect, they were all so different. I think the main criteria for being a grunge band was wearing a flannel shirt and on that front, they were most definitely the same.

To all those who object over the female nudity - go cuddle up with your Laura Mulvey book and attend a women in film class to discuss the objectification of women. Our male gaze is obviously penetrating the women on screen. Barf.

I think when we all watch this series, back-to-back, a few years from whenever it has finally ended, we'll notice how electrifying the acting was in this episode. Sure, when you wait week to week, you expect episode four (the epic Dany episode) each time to give it an A. But part of the enjoyment of the books, at

I read that and felt all giddy inside

I think Esposito is also in Mo Money too (Damon Wayne's competition for his love interest)

I liked it…Chris Cooper was Pip's brother-in-law/father figure. That role was at the beginning of Cooper's rise to respectability. I especially enjoyed the scene when he shows up at Pip's art showing and realizes he is out of place and dragging his symbolic son down.

I like Tom Lennon's one man Jurassic Park play from "the State"

I liked Lame Lothar. I thought he was a decent Frey….

The R'hollor religion is more Zoastrianism because he has a diametrically opposed enemy - the god lord of the others.

Yeah, not flirting. Just stating the facts. Although touched, I don't believe he would be Dany's cup of tea.

They seem to be playing up Qyburn and positioning him for future importance. I'm all for it. We got hints of how twisted he is this episode: he doesn't seem to mind screams of agony.

What I loved about the sword battle, and we saw a little bit of it in the first season w/ Bronn at the Eyrie, is how close quarters this combat is. If you are observing, and not careful, you might get something sliced off.

I really liked this episode. Of course, it does not have the momentum of the last one - the last ep may have been the crowning technical and storytelling achievement of television of our generation so tough act to follow. What I like is that this episode is the gateway to the rest of story. We still have some major

exactly. As long as a staffer takes a position on any piece of media, there will be us to take them down…and other posters telling us we must die of CancerAids.

What's going on is people move on. Jobs aren't forever. As readers of the site, we are lucky to have had great staff from AV Club. It seems like another media company presented a favorable opportunity and the staffers took it. They have been on this site for a long time. Their resumes and portfolio are strong.

Big things coming for Chris Pratt. He was the best thing in Five Year Engagement
