And to think freedom was in his grasp!

When you play the Game of Chairs, you stand or you sit.

He also did I Married a Communist, which I have but still haven't listened to yet. One of these days!

Ah! I'm really glad to see the Ron Silver audiobook of American Pastoral here, as I loved the hell out of it when I listened to it a couple years back. Silver also did Roth's The Plot Against America, which is fantastic as well.

Courtesans and gentlefops!

Dodgson, Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here!

I'n usually not one for 3D movies either, but I'll be damned if seeing JP in IMAX 3D this week wasn't one of the most awesome things I've ever experienced. I didn't see it in theaters back in 1993 (I was 5, and my parents thought it'd be too scary), so having another chance to do so was terrific. It was like seeing it

Pardon me, Neckbeard, but I think you may be mistaken about the Spielberg "thing." His parents' divorce had a major impact on his childhood, and he has stated many times that themes like parental negligence and fear of abandonment are quite important in many of his films.

@avclub-62812d8eb06386505986efff8b5e43ac:disqus: I think the 10th inning is pretty fantastic, especially since Burns deals with the steroid scandal in a very direct way. The inning has its celebratory moments - the 2004 world series, naturally, is one of them - but there's a somewhat darker tone throughout that seems

There is something undeniably magical about Ken Burns's Baseball. I could watch it over and over for the rest of my life and never tire of it.

Man oh man, how great would it be to see John McGraw portrayed in a film?

A League of Their Own is a goddamn masterpiece and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise!

I'm amused by the fact that John C. McGinley plays Red Barber in this, because I've always thought that he's the spitting image of Vin Scully.

Get him, boys!

"And now I look like a SCHMUCK!"

Cigarette?

I think it truly died with Rex Hamilton.

I'd be curious to see the John Ashcroft film because I've always found everything about him, from his political views to his musical instincts, to be decidedly unnatural!

Yup, I'd watch the shit out of that show.

Now that is a through (if disappointing!) update. Thanks Michelle!
