I worked on one of these once — the rapper in this case was Cisco Adler, and somehow the producer had gotten Jake Hoffman (Dustin's son), Spencer Grammer (Kelsey's daughter) and Paris Hilton (this was 2000, pre sex-video, "who the hell is Paris Hilton?"), and the thing was directed by the kid of some WEA executive.

The Maitlands were more crunchy proto-hipsters.  No kids, old house off the grid, big artistic hobbies — nowadays the Maitlands would be selling little model houses and people for $30 a pop on Etsy.

Weyoun!

Kennedy has defended “First Night 2013” as a parody, and, indeed, there are moments throughout when the special feels more like a lost episode-length SCTV sketch: Let’s call it “Melonville Rings In The New Year.”

"Movie 43’s appropriately half-assed framing device finds a struggling filmmaker (Dennis Quaid, with the wardrobe and hair of a 25-year-old emo kid) pitching a series of movies to a studio executive played by Greg Kinnear, first with mounting desperation, then while threatening Kinnear with a gun. "

WHY DOES THIS MOVIE EXIST?  Terry Gilliam would like to tell you all about how dark action-y Brothers' Grimm-themed movies do in the box office.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus Thank's for making me feel like a total waste of a human being reading this thread :)

"This is a small point, but the reason Bashir won’t kill Sisko or the others is that apparently the program will delete their file if they die. That can’t be standard practice, can it? Holo-programs have to be designed for multiple uses."

Napier's primary schtick, from the 80s on, was doing caricature military officers.  He played several generals in WB animated cartoons as well as "Leslie 'Hap' Happablap(!)" from that great Sideshow Bob episode where he steals the Wright Flyer.

"Happy movies are all the same, bad movies are all bad in their own way."  — Lev Tolstoy, as told to Samuel Z. Arkoff.

I seem to recall telling someone once that Deep Impact was good but weaker than The Peacemaker.

Night Train to Mundo Fine?

Because it's sorta slow.  And the hero is a schmuck.

Also Scott Eyman's The Speed of Sound.  Frank Capra's soundman, Edward Berndts, also has published memoirs that have a lot of information about the period.

hen we get to the really traditional stuff. Renner's character is humanized by befriending a child — the boy selling bootleg DVDs. This relationship reminded me of several John Wayne films. They'd show that Wayne isn't such a tough guy after all because he can be caring and affectionate toward a child.

I'm still waiting for Starthairn to do that long-delayed Richard Feynman/Challenger disaster biopic.

Could they all possibly be addicted to bath salts, and perhaps all be partners in a Louisiana duck call business? Let's do a meeting net week.

@avclub-53e4db6f596904f154b5efa09193e3ab:disqus If it were a Voyager episode you'd be watching Neelix and Kes arguing with Robert Oppenheimer about tachyon particles.
