The acting, the cheap-ass set design and the extremely 90's hair are all awfully off-putting to the modern viewer.

I thought the first version of Andromeda was pretty decent, but I didn't watch it regularly, and then somehow in later season(s?) the cast was all on a desert planet in a different era after having destroyed the ship, which was still in space somehow and Sorbo was a demigod or something.  Basically the series was kind

It's hard to compare. If B5 had sets, effects and casts on par with DS9, I think it would have been the better show.  As is, I think your opinion is perfectly valid, though I don't share it.

While I remember bits and pieces from different episodes (it was omnipresent in syndication throughout my childhood), the one episode that I really remember is when Eddie Haskell got his own place and was trying to support himself by buying things for people with his credit card.

I'm not going to look it up, but I was pretty sure Eddie Haskell grew up to be a state trooper.
