"…Olyphant is a long way from Justified here…"
Well, not THAT long of a way as "Justified" was and "Santa Clarita Diet" is filmed in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles.

Wrapped up watching season four of "Justified." I watched five episodes in a row last night. That's how good this show is.

Hey, stop forwarding this crap to me!

I saw for the first time last year at the Hollywood Bowl and it was the most fun I ever had at a concert.

Did Anwar al-Awlaki get his chance to say goodbye to the president? What about his 16-year-old son?
No?
They were killed, you say? In drone strikes ordered by this president?
American citizens denied due process guaranteed by the Constitution by this president that celebrities (and AV Club commentators) are slobbering

There's a guy who comes out to Hollywood Boulevard from time to time dressed like Jules, the Samuel L. Jackson character from "Pulp Fiction," and takes photos for tips with the other movie characters hanging out near Grauman's Chinese.
One day I saw him at the Fresh & Easy grocery store (since closed) and as he was

Have lived in California for 12 years and never been to a Jack in the Box.
I still cannot get over the whole tainted meat in the tacos from like 40 years ago.
(And I generally don't eat fast food anyway. Haven't been to a McDonald's or Carl's Jr. in more than 3 1/2 years. I do allow myself In 'n' Out Burger from time

Nope, they are opening for the puppet show. (And get second billing to said puppets.)

Agreed on Winslow. Saw him at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books back in April.

"Surrender, New York" - the new one from Caleb Carr. If you liked his first novel, "The Alienist," then you will like this one. A similar story but instead of turn of the century New York City it takes place in modern day upstate New York.

Fun fact: the lyrics to "Puff the Magic Dragon" were written by Lenny Lipton, based on a poem he wrote while in college. I've interviewed Lipton, and no, the song is not about drugs.
Lipton would later go on the become a pioneer in 3D film making.

Off the top of my head:
"Power of the Dog," by Don Winslow, the favorite new author I "discovered" in 2016.
The Walking Dead graphic novels
The Dark Tower series - the first two books were re-reads, although, honestly, I don't recall anything about "The Drawing of the Three." I am now on the fourth book, "Wizard and

Or Cheap Trick. There should always be more Cheap Trick on the radio.

I've got a bad feeling about this…

As an old guy, I must ask - who are all these people? I recognize maybe, five names here.

My one disappointment in the "real story" vs. film version was with "The Right Stuff." It's a great movie but it portrays Sam Sheppard's Chuck Yeager as breaking the sound barrier the very first time he went up int the X-1. I would later read Yeager's book and he in fact had gone up in the plane at least a half dozen

I liked Dances with Wolves better when it was called Run of the Arrow.

Gonna paint a Falcon
Gonna paint it fine
Gonna use an oil-based paint
because the wood is pine

The best hefe I've had was from Mission Brewing, in San Diego.

Went home to Chicago for the Cubs in the World Series.
