Susan Foreman, the character and the actress who plays her, are both alive. The character of Susan Foreman is still on Earth, living a human life on post 1st Dalek Invasion(appearance-wise) Earth.

Making the Doctor half human, making out with a companion, and the whole the space/time continuum will fall apart at precisely midnight(in our local time zone) plotline.
