Yes.
Yes.
The last third of Cabin Fever was fucking hilarious. It was a legitimately good movie, on the level of Dead Snow (also amazing).
Yes, by all means, let's celebrate the Lowest Common Denominator.
"The Thing" 1982 is as much a remake as "Bad Lieutenant: POCNO" was.
I feel you. Fuck the downvoters. Off the top of my head: Tony Todd, Denzel Washington (yes, really), Andre 3000, Takashi Miike, Naomi Watts, would all be good non-standard AVClub fare for talking about horror movies.
Thir13en Ghosts? The remake of The Thing? Hostel II? Man - Kerry King has crap taste.
Don't care. Still awesome.
Don't even care. This looks awesome.
this makes me very sad.
Peter Travers is incredibly old, and probably very confused.
Listen, you fuckface. Anyone who says nothing before 1941 and nothing foreign (except "maybe" Kurosawa) qualifies as a masterpiece should shut the fuck up about movies.
Holy shit dude, you're not helping your claim to be able to adjudicate which films are masterpieces.
I got your back, bro!
Yeah, I'm glad Israel is a shining beacon of domestic peace and regional harmony instead.
I would like to point out that you invalidated your entire post by complaining about Saving Private Ryan. An ACCOUNTS CLERK driving a (whatever the 1940s version of a) DODGE STRATUS was what the role was SUPPOSED to be.
Next up: HDB complains about Spike Lee's performance as Mookie in Do the Right Thing.
I would actually disagree. The Road is so unrelentingly grim and virtually humourless, that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, except McCarthy completists. Blood Meridian is fucking amazing, and the plot is no less difficult to follow. Not sure what jumps The Colonel is talking about, but it was fairly…
So much. This is perfection here. ^^^
White people: there's no civil rights story that we can't reframe to showcase our own perspective.
"Muffin" is the best, although that does tend to get confused when hearing people talk about a muffin top.
Vanessa Marano?!? What a disgusting pig - amirite?
