I would actually disagree.  The Road is so unrelentingly grim and virtually humourless, that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, except McCarthy completists.  Blood Meridian is fucking amazing, and the plot is no less difficult to follow.  Not sure what jumps The Colonel is talking about, but it was fairly…
