Basic Rocket Science suffers from some characterization issues (Annie), but it's probably otherwise a better episode than Epidemiology. That's my worst episode of the bunch.

I don't know about the grade.  I've too much baggage with the show to properly judge a particular episode.  But I don't agree with the criticism in the review regarding characterizations.  I genuinely enjoyed all the characters in this episode, faults and all.    

I don't think there's a bad episode in the first half of season two. 

It's a seat at the table.  There's an enormous amount of job security as a partner.  The firings earlier in the year are probably still on her mind.  Anyone who's not a partner can get fired.   I don't see why she wouldn't want it.

Absolutely.  There's nothing I enjoy more than when TGW is firing on all cylinders.  And this review enhanced that experience greatly.

But didn't they finish up their Biology class in the summer anyway what with their expulsion and Chang Takeover? There really shouldn't have been much time off between S3 and S4.  I could be wrong, I've not rewatched S3 in a while.

It's not county level but they're elected by magisterial district - and a county will have more than three of those usually.  The county sheriffs want to get rid of the position, but it won't happen no matter how many "independent" reports they put out.  Really the only time I see them is during the State Fair.
