Well, it's all relative (want, not need).  My confusion is that I don't think the salary from Community could've contributed significantly to that $50 million.  But I think it was mentioned in the Season 2 Walkthrough that Chase was money-conscious enough to fight over money in an episode he wasn't even in.  So one of

Wait, then why did he even go on Community in the first place?  He hates sitcoms and didn't need the money after all.

But what about Avengers 4-20?

Is that supposed to be his signature?

Indifferently photographed on smeary, consumer-grade, black-and-white digital video, Much Ado shovels mass quantities of iambic pentameter into the mouths of untrained third-string television actors, most of whom appear to have learned their lines phonetically.  Not since Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet have I been so

Read them for entertainment, but ignore the comments for sanity.

True, but at the same time, I wish ambitious showrunners would adjust their expectations a little.  Is it even in the show's best interest to drag these events for seven seasons?   Personally, I'd like to see the post-Silence of the Lambs stuff sooner.

But…they seem so wholesome in the commercials.

To clarify: I should've emphasized that some of the comments here are petulant, but no, I wasn't referring to yours.

…I feel like the (over)confidence of the showrunner is not a great way to gauge the renewal chances of a TV show.

The context isn't about making the joke better.  The context is that it is only a fraction of the Harmontown podcast.  If you're listening to a podcast intently, what would you do?  You would groan and move on, because there's other more interesting shit happening.  To basically rip out and sensationalize the dumb

Pretty sure this is a good move for her…

Much like Marvel Comics, the labyrinthine Boy Meets World mythology employs sliding timelines.

Partially true, although I don't think it's Community's fault.   A lot of this drama occurs in the offseason though, of which there happens to be a lot of these days…

Other than disspelling the ridiculous idea that Harmon is equating watching Community Season 4 with rape, I think everyone generally agrees that the joke was not really funny or in poor taste.  To me, it's on par with the whole Quvenzhane is a cunt joke.  We had to explain to people that joking that she is a cunt is

For me, the third thing.  Would you believe that AV Club is actually more insufferable than Dan Harmon when it comes to Season 4?

You've definitely got the moral highground here.

Again, being a huge asshole about Season 4 of Community, like pretty much everyone here at the AV Club, is probably still a lesser crime than cheating on your wife (and that is definitely not the worst crime perpetrated in Hollywood).  There is of course a different set of standards for the fired/re-hired showrunner

A little perspective guys.  There are way worse people working in Hollywood right now than a dude who made a tasteless comparison involving rape in a podcast.
