I know it's probably hypocritical on some level, but I'm a little annoyed at Sean O'Neal for the first and hopefully only time ever.

Eh, it was a thoughtless joke; key word being thoughtless.  This isn't the first or the last time he'll do something stupid in the public eye.  But it's not like this is part of the Season 4 DVD Commentary, or that he expressed this joke during Comic Con.  It's a podcast that you and most people would probably admit

I know people are coming from a good place ("Rape is bad"), which is certainly better than most of the internet, but the knee-jerk reaction in that article shows that the AV Club can be just as silly and misguided as the rest of cyberspace.

I guess my problem isn't so much along the lines of trivializing rape
(or I'd have to accuse everyone who makes a rape joke of doing so), but
the fact that, yes, he does seem to directly equating the two.

In Harmon's case - he was so bad that 90% of his writing room left at
the end of season 2 and he had to hire people who are also fans of the
show because all "normal" writers refused to work with him.

I'm hard-pressed to understand why anyone is replying seriously to prostars.prosky.

Not to suck all the fun out of the room, but why can't somebody as
clever and funny as Harmon (and I do acknowledge that much to be true)
come up with something more intelligent than a rape comparison?

RAPELARIOUS

In what possible scenario is there for a person to like his/her own post and not look like a complete douche?

Yes, well, this isn't the first time Harmon said something controversial, and we did endlessly debate about it for a while.  There's no new ground here.

They kind of don't…makes the recruiters' jobs easier.

They've worked with Harmon for 2-3 seasons.  They'll be fine.  He's probably said way worse shit to them in private.  And you know what?  Friends don't bullshit each other.

I'm not sure how to interpret this.  Are you suggesting that if Grassio and Port trashed the seasons of Community they didn't run, we would rip into them?  Because that's a very different situation from this one.

Saying things like  “I guess I already knew this, but apparently I’m a
genius" don't exactly make people think you're anything other than a
major dick, even if he meant it in jest.

Was it ever that realistic?

*Exactly* the same as watching your family be violated.

It's technically murder, but it feels more like assisted suicide, which is legal in 3 states in America, albeit in very specific contexts.  Still, I'm hopeful one day assisted suicide will extend to non-terminally ill patients, and that cannibalism will become an alternative form of corpse treatment.

Dan Harmon gets shit for being an ass to his fans on Twitter, but I think he's justified.

I'm hesitant to trust Metacritic's averaging scheme.

You kind of need both.  Tomatometer gives you something like a probability.  Metacritic gives you some kind of average (it's apparently weighted in some way).
