I may use that in the memo line on my next rent check.  And technically it would be true.

The wet hair in lieu of bangs was rather hot.

It's not subtle at all, there was a minor yet noticeable plot point a few episodes back when Pam was jealous of Jim paying attention to her.

What's funny is that every season, the resident molecular gastronomist talks about wanting to prove that it's more than just wizardry and it's really about the flavors.  Every season.

Eh, it's really not that much of a spoiler. That's like saying the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher won't make it to the end of the book.

If they're going to keep killing off probation workers, though, they should make it a thing.  Like, at least two per season.

Heaven help me, I was actually a bit sad when this probation worker died.  He didn't deserve to go out via screwdriver to the stomach.  Let's hope the new one is just as douchey.

I want to say "something original" because I'll always remember Tracy Jordan mentioning he knows what a centennial is because "centipeding" is the act of having sex with 100 women.

Slumdog Millionaire is another example, although Cheers came to me right away.  Can't think of any others right now.

Biggest problem: for an episode that is essentially superheroes vs Nazis… nobody uses their powers in battle.

I maintain that an FX version of Misfits would potentially be really, really good.  But this doesn't seem to be the path it's taking.

Highlights of the night were easily Tyler's pronunciations of "slut" and "whore."

Re: the serial rapist's punishment: the Misfits *always* abuse the villain of the week.  Given their track record, he's lucky they didn't kill him. I don't think it's supposed to be read as empowering, it's just how they dole out justice (ie, badly most of time).

This is going a bit outside of the usual AV Club scope, but: CM Punk's epic "shoot" promo on the June 27 episode of WWE Raw was one of the most entertaining moments of the year, regardless of how low your perception of professional wrestling is.

So am I the only Braves fan here to come to the team's defense?  Somebody?  Anybody?

For a sketch that plays so wholly into the Kristen Wiig Being an Unfunny Recurring Character ploy, I somehow found it (and her) to be hilarious.

The dancing at the monologue was fantastic - a genuinely true expression of Christmas joy.  After that, Fallon's "so glad to be here!" enthusiasm and parade of guest stars had diminishing marginal returns.  See the Weekend Update joke-off: everyone involved is clearly having a great time, it just isn't translating

Somebody on Twitter said that Kattan and Morgan dislike each other. Cursory googling shows that in his autobiography, Morgan really doesn't like Kattan.

I generally enjoyed the show but did anyone else get the feeling that it was trying much too hard to please?

And a real human being.
