I don't disagree. I just think Jimmy is fundamentally incapable of choosing well. He could be a decent lawyer, but he chooses to fuck with Chuck.

I completely agree with that; but Jimmy is taking care of Chuck AND conning KenWins. The first is Chuck's fault, the second isn't. In a way, what happened to Chuck here is only Jimmy's fault, even if Chuck did do everything in his power to provoke it.

Jimmy is a fuck-up though, and it's not because of Chuck. I feel a lot of it is largely born out of the spite Chuck feels for Jimmy, and that's not entirely unwarranted.

I don't even know if he's unsympathetic, I think he's genuinely unable to show it to Jimmy. I don't think he really knows how to behave around him.

The last episode and this one have been pretty good, and the lead performance is genuinely good. The detective is just so lame though and is dragging the whole show down.
