i was making my way on down here to say that very thing, but then i realized that while i really like joanna newsom, i've never really respected bands who name themselves after songs by other bands. i'm looking at you, radiohead.
@ lovecraft in brooklyn: i think craig finn likes to hate on them because it hits a little close to home.
the hold steady do, in fact, kick ass live and are among my favorite bands, but i have to say that fiestas + fiascos is probably higher up in my heart than anything the hold steady has to offer. but for the record, separation sunday is tied with almost killed me for my favorite hold steady record.
no, there's a whole different set of characters: juanita, katrina, nightclub dwight, the eyepatch guy, sandy, stephanie, etc…
"don't call her lazy 'cause she's crazy about the daytime tv, channel 3, look at me, i'm a real whale watcher. they think i'm smart. they think it's art, but then i start with a crash, i'm just a brash trash talker."

you know… i hear he has a huge… ackman. like, legendary.
i'm kind of seriously bummed about this news, because i really wanted to see it in theatres and never got a chance, and now i can't even enjoy it on dvd. i was going to order it today, even. i guess i'm glad that i dodged a bullet by being an a.v. club nerd, but i was really psyched about this movie…
my friends used to trash on me all the time for really liking king of the hill. but i almost got ostracized forever for saying that i think futurama today is better than the simpsons today.
mm… ted leo.
i would certainly pay the $9 at my local multiplex to see the vampires from twilight get brutally dispatched.
i love fresca! they have it at target… it's my third favorite soda, after anything lychee flavored from the asian market, and cranberry splash sierra mist.

even the grossness of those mental pictures doesn't quite make me forget my hatred of the insipid marketing campaigns aimed at women. seriously. i actually liked tab energy drink. yeah, i liked it. but i stuck with my usual switchup of NOS and moxie energy drink because i was too ashamed to buy something that made so…
@ riff raff: ahem. the only thing i could think of after reading your comment was pearl necklaces… and i'm nearly sure that's not what you meant.
