I'm blown away by how divisive the response is over this. I was sure a few people wouldn't like it, given that it was A) clay-mation (-ish), B) a musical, and C) a Christmas episode, all of which combine to make it a radical departure from a "normal" Community episode. But the number of people on here who hated it?

"Well he did say last season that he made out with the "hottest girl in school" while checking off his college movie cliches list."

Between Troy's reaction to Jeff's "hurricane" line and his face when Abed reveals Jeff/Britta were making out, plus the above mentioned setup between Annie/Troy to make a comeback as a story line, really seeming like an awful love-square.

Mac faux-swinging the bat absolutely KILLS me. Best part of the letter.

They seem to be on a pretty consistent "this is airing in real time" thread. Last year had mentions of Jeff finishing school in May 2013, the Christmas episode being on December 10th, other major holidays syncing up.

"To me that is a pretty wide-eyed innocent approach to a crush on Jeff Winger. "

The best part of this episode was the sparing use of Kenneth - 2 minutes of screentime or less and its a winner as a general rule.

Genuinely surprised Artemis was NOT amongst the bridge people - her Frank would fit in with that crowd perfectly.

The Gang Hits the Road alone is underrated, its top three of the best episodes IASIP has ever done.

The World Series episode from last year took place right about when it was broadcast - they refer to things happening "last year" when the Phillies won the world series.

If I'm Dan Harmon, anytime I'm disappointing by review or comments, I just head on back to the Modern Warfare page.

Unless you believe in everyone single one of everyone's gods, you're an atheist by some definitions (Hitchens, notably).

I was stunned to see the A here, but in reading the comments, it's clear reactions were very mixed.

Agreed - I was watching the Giants on the east coast, which is more of a problem. Only three more weeks of potential conflicts.

Oh man, if Dan Harmon hasn't already thought of a LOST parody, I hope he reads these comments because that would be fantastic. Though they'd have to get stranded somehow, and getting to that stage would be the hardest bit of it, I think.

I've witnessed the watermelon thing at a scout camp as a kid.

All of Kenneth's parts were very SNL-y, and thus the worst part of the episode.

thread hijack

I was waiting the whole time for it to turn into a commentary on illegal immigration, or stereotyping, or even fucking glorification of idiots via reality tv, but no, there was nothing deeper happening. I hope there's some better episodes down the line, but this was lazy and trite.
