I went from all metal all the time from about 1990-1998 or so to gradually getting into more indy-type rock or what have you. I never avoided SY , they just never eneded up in my playlists.

I thought it was clear that I wasn't disparaging Sonic Youth as a band when I pointed out that I've never heard anything by them. I was just tossing out that this breakup affects me in no way with some self deprecating "jokes" and other nonsense. It was certainly NOT my intention to get your britches in a bunch by,

Thankfully in high school I stuck strictly with metal (Megadeth, Metallica, Testament*, etc) and never branched out until I was in my mid twenties when Sonic Youth weren't in my wheelhouse**. Therefore I can safely say this news means nothing to me.

I don't think Psych took the idea from Dexter or vice versa. I just wanted to sound smart by pointing out that Dexter is based on books that I don't know the titles of.

Dexter is based on some books that I understand are of varying quality. I guess that makes Dexter technically first, though the pas couple seasons Psych has been far more enjoyable to watch.

"Gus, don't be the only black lead on TV."

Gee Buttersnaps (I think I got that right).

Agreed on Psych and Fringe. If I'm feeling lazy and just want to veg out in front of the TV, I can usually pop in a random Psych episode and enjoy myself. Especially the Twin Peaks knock-off. And I never even watched Twin Peaks itself.

In all fairness, as ridiculous as a time traveling Brit who has a penchant
for finding a female companion for his Earth saving journeys, it's no
where near as ridiculous as Julia Roberts playing Julia Roberts in
Ocean's 12.

I prefer a rocks glass myself. No rocks though, please.

In fact until reading your comment I still thought it was Downtown.

I don't think Canada existed back then. It was created after WWII and pissed off a bunch Arabs. Or am I thinking of something else?

I gave up with like 2 or 3 episodes left to go in the first season. I fucking HATED that Linney's character was hiding the fact that she had cancer to everyone. But Oliver Platt is so fucking great I want to come back to it.
