Based on what we've seen so far, I see them as true believers. I don't think Felicia actually burned her hands on a mystical ladder, but I do think she believes she did (given their discussion of the drugs they were doing then, who knows what she experienced, versus what a sober person would say). If she and/or Bill

The fact that Felicia and Bill are only worried about two people, Alison Kemp and Miranda Frank, leads me to think people being actively harmed and having something against the movement is a new phenomenon. Perhaps Kemp is why Cal left San Diego after three years. Then, shortly after he arrives in New York, the Frank

We may not agree on Cal, but I'm with you on Abe- I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually starts buying in, or at least tiptoes towards doing so.

Oh, yeah, I know the song featured isn't by Arcade Fire, I was referencing Hawk and Ashley's conversation. But thanks for the specifics on the song!

Thanks for listening to TIOD! I'm looking forward to seeing if Bates continues to connect certain instruments with characters or ideas, or goes more for atmosphere.

I would love if they went all-in episode 8 or so and committed to the Meyerist Movement being real. Eddie starts glowing and is the ordained next leader, Cal is the serpent trying to corrupt Meyer's truth, it would be ridiculous and amazing.

Great point about the blocking of the not-sex scene- and I totally buy Eddie as a non-believer willing to pretend and go along to keep his family. That plays for me much better than Eddie the believer, mostly because we've yet to see him express any faith or belief, or say anything about how he feels/felt about the

I actually also really appreciate that the Meyerist members are for the most part treated respectfully and seem to be living (comparatively) normal lives. I would like a stronger sense of why they buy in, but they feel like regular people, part of this movement but not necessarily consumed by it. Where I have trouble

Forgot to mention it in the strays, but another thought- shouldn't the movement know where Miranda was the night Eddie was at the hotel? Wouldn't she have been at their Midwest compound, halfway across the country? The show is presenting the conflict with Sarah as her believing Eddie cheated on her with Miranda Frank,

Glad it read as totally consensual to you—I look forward to seeing how people read that scene. It pinged for me as problematic, but clearly YMMV.

Stealth review, activated!

Unfortunately, there's no overlap between seasons, so Simm and Glenister don't share any scenes.

I don't think it's likely they'll go this way, but I totally agree. It'd be way more interesting to see them explore a long-term relationship for Josh. But then, I tend to prefer when comedies embrace change, rather than avoiding it, however unpopular that approach seems to be.

It's really a shame. To get FXX by me, you need to kick your cable package up three or four levels from the standard. It's a lot more expensive; strong as the FXX originals lineup is, I get why most don't spring for it.

Thanks for reading, Salvador—and me too! I've tried to get more people to watch, so I can talk the show IRL, but hardly anyone I know has FXX.

I love her delivery of "Santa Claus is coming to town" so. much.

No, probably not. But given that Noah ducking out of the way of the debris didn't seem like much of a stretch, but the finale revealed he died until Tommy rewrote the timeline, I figure convenient off-screen deaths that characters can be saved from are now very much on the table.

Thanks! I had such high hopes (well, comparatively).

Eric André and Britt Lower are the main supporting cast, but I'd add in Robin Duke and Mark McKinney as Josh's mom and step-dad. They're not in every episode, but pop up frequently enough to feel like part of the world. Plus their inclusion last week was particularly fun and has me hoping for more of them.

Nope, there are two: "Company Woman" on 1/14 and the finale, "Project Reborn" on 1/21
