I think Wes Craven can be hit or miss but, if you haven't already you should try both "The Serpent and the Rainbow" and "The People Under the Stairs". The former being more of a creepy stranger-in-a-strange-land horror movie in the same vein as "Angel Heart" and "Deliverence" and the latter being a fun, somewhat…
Here you go, Miller. Some of these are hilarious :
Yeah, this was a great column. Thanks for taking time out of your busy reading schedule, Keith.
I would love it if he found a box of "Choose Your Own Adventure".
Oh thank God. I was actually becoming productive. I was this close to accomplishing a goal. Well not anymore. Thanks Sawbuck Gamer!
He was such a force of nature on television in the 80s that even if you didn't watch his shows regularly you were acutely aware of his style. Of his shows I only watched The A-Team on a regular basis and The Greatest American Hero on a less regular basis. But his style of high-concept, trashy action shows dressed up…
Be sure to check out "Hard Times". Bronson as a bare-knuckle boxer during the depression. Co-starring James Coburn and directed by Walter Hill.
This image is largely responsible for my curiosity about "House".
So it's not the "House" with William Katt and George Wendt. Because I've always wondered about that movie.
Where's Sawbuck Gamer?
Hello,
Check this out:
I liked the blue mirror-demon scene, too. I think it's a great fantasy set piece. But at one point (unless I'm completely misremembering) the battle devolves into really goofy looking pro-wrestling types of moves and it was just kind of too ridiculous for me.
Animated Owls
They already made the definitive animated owl movie.
Conan the Destroyer
I'm glad you don't completely hate "Conan the Destroyer". I've always felt it was a flawed but worthwhile fantasy movie. If they had just done away with the stupid comic relief of Tracey Walter and the stupid/obvious wrestling tie-in with that blue mirror-demon, and maybe cast someone with more…
I'm aware that there are many non-sexual things in British culture that sound sexual to Americans, so maybe in England ladyboys are something other than what they are in America. But just for my own personal edification, could you explain what that means in England.
Pioneer One ending
Hey, Todd. Could you go ahead and spoil the ending of "Pioneer One" for those of us that would like to know? Because I really don't feel like sitting through an hour of boring just to find out what the awesome twist ending is. But you make it sound like it's pretty cool.
Sunlit noir?
Well, it's neo-noir but, how about "After Dark, My Sweet"?
Dabney Coleman?
It seems like he kinda fell into a black hole there for a while. I'm glad to see he's back on something of this caliber.
Waitaminit, this guy stabbed my girlfriend, too?! Motherfucker!
