Me, too. I was worried that he wouldn't be able to pull off the dramatic stuff, but he knocked it out of the park. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, though. It seems like they were playing it for sweetness (with the music), but seeing Mynor with Echo at the end, knowing everything about the two of them and

They did a similar thing with Victor a couple of weeks ago that they did with Paul's neighbor this week and while it potentially could be a lot of fun it could also get silly if they let it get away from them. I think the sleeper-dolls are something they need to use sparingly.

Zack - I'm sure you have a million other things to do, and you probably don't want to relive the experience, but I would love a (short?) blog entry on your jury duty experience. At least the weird and mixed-up parts of it. For some reason I'm kind of fascinated by this "12 Angry Men" kind of stuff.

Yeah, but there's this zombie-hobo that shuffles around everywhere trying to "lay hands" on people. It's creepy. If I wanted my sores annointed I would have done it before I went on vacation, guy. Jeez.

Vanilla Ice
Snark all you want, but that show managed to make an hour-long documentary about Vanilla Ice pretty fascinating.

I will also pile on the "Carnavas" love and ask you people here if their previous album(s?) is/are something that I absolutely must pick up right now.

Do The Cars count?
Assuming you consider them power-pop, they made the big time and maybe not everything they did was great, but they've got a bunch of really good pop songs.

Karatloz, you were grossed out and yet you watched a movie about Tarzan's secret "treasure". And I think we all know what his treasure was.

Everybody Loves a Nut
Seeing Tom T. Hall listed above makes me think of the other country album I listened to a lot when I was a kid. Johnny Cash's "Everybody Loves a Nut" and "The One On the Right Is On the Left" still rattle around my head from time to time, as does that crazy Jack Davis cover art.

"No touching!!! No touching!!!"

Who's Alpha?
So who will be the actor to portray Alpha? I doubt it will be an unknown. Since this is a Whedon show there's an actor I'm secretly hoping for :

Fox Second Guesses
It's funny how FOX wanted "Dollhouse" to have five stand alone episodes so newcomers to the show could have easy access points, or whatever, but then they advertise the sixth episode as "the one you've been waiting for". They're all but openly admitting that they know the first five episodes aren't

Standard rock and dirt planet?
A couple of other people above have identified the battleground for Kirk and the Gorn as the Vasquez Rocks in the Antelope Valley section of Los Angeles county and I'd just like to add that I really like the use of location in this episode. I realize that it seems somewhat similar to a

Kirk vs. Gorn
"Arena" was my favorite episode when I was a kid, but seeing it again I wish they had made more out of Kirk's quest for revenge and how the humans and the Gorn are not so different. The brief verbal exchange between Kirk and the Gorn Captain is chilling and I really wish more of the episode had been on

Nubian
Assuming your question is not sarcastic, a Nubian is an old-timey way of referring to someone of African descent. I think the region of Nubia was in Egypt and possibly more areas of Eastern Africa. I don't think it was meant to be offensive, but it's probably not something you should throw into causal

Stewart Copeland rocks
Much like "The Fall Guy", "The Equalizer" was a show I never actually watched very often, but I was mezmerized by the opening credit sequence and music.

That's a beautiful song. Really evocative. I can see how, if it was playing at the right moment in your life, it would just grab ahold of you and not let go.

World Party
The only way I can see doing this is like a word association thing where you just say whatever comes to mind and what pops into my head is "Ship of Fools" by World Party. I think it's one of the best, most overlooked pop songs of the 80s and I also think it transcends that time frame. It's world-weary, a

I like to imagine an alternate take where Warren Oates shouts, "I am motherfuckin' sick of these motherfuckin' snakes on this motherfuckin' RV!!!

Dan - I'm not sure how derogatory your quotes around 'classics' are supposed to be, but I really liked "Race With the Devil". It was kind of like "The Wicker Man" in a Winnebago. I think it should be considered a cult classic, anyway.
