@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus For one of my classes, I saw The Great Dictator speech. The Dictator was definitely inspired by that, but Cohen's version is definitely less of an uplifting speech and a more biting, satirical one that I felt kind of dragged on.

@avclub-eaff9f19dbfd5c5a5807b5dbfa656ec9:disqus That is a great opener. I'm also partial to the two songs which they killed live with, Tell No One and Doom 84. Brings back some great moshing memories.

I'd say it's worth a rental at least. There's more than enough funny stuff to make it seeing once. Plus, it does allow a chance to see how cute Anna Faris looks with short hair.

@avclub-efb3d8be0319721ef751da0b05d9f6a5:disqus I'll admit, I genuinely like The Only Flame In Town. It's just a really nice pop song in a similar vein as Everyday I Write The Book. Plus, I really enjoy the video, with its strange alternate reality where women really are happy to win a date with Elvis Costello.

I didn't mention it in my long post up above, but I also did a lot of Beastie Boys listening as well. Paul's Boutique is, and will be, a flat out masterpiece. Licensed To Ill is very fun, if not really representative of their aesthetic, and Hello Nasty is sweet. Also getting into Ill Communication a lot more than when

While Goodbye Cruel World is the solidly conventional choice for worst Costello album, I still contend that Kojak Variety is even worse. It takes the promising concept of him doing covers and ruins them with incredibly lifeless performances performed by a band that is nowhere near the level of The Attractions.

This was a pretty jam packed week of pop culture. So this is likely going to be a
long one. Ready for some good quips from all of you about this.

Or Noel sung Oasis for that matter.

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus  I definitely like these kinds of FYCs as well. I was just being facetious about the fact that this is clearly an article which is not going to attract as many comments as one about discussing white people problems.

Beat me to it. But yeah, that would be one of the greatest shows of all time, so much that you'd have to try to write a song as a tribute to the greatest show of all time.

Well, now we go back to For Our Consideration articles which aren't likely to hit 2000 plus comments. Unless we use this thread to say that Funky Winkerbean is a comic strip for white people only, man, and The Boondocks is where it's really at.

I would so utterly and totally support a Flight Of The Conchords, Tenacious D, Lonely Island super tour. Out of that bill, Flight Of The Conchords would be the best, but all of them have songs I really enjoy. Come on concert promoters, make this glorious thing a reality.

Good interview. I think he came off very well and had some very well thought out answers for all the questions.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus Maybe I'm being overly worried, but I really hope that if you're having severely dark thoughts, you can find someone in your life that you can talk to. I think you're a good person and someone whose been dealt some awful hands in life right now, but ones which I hope you

@avclub-68e8e6860586596c1e7a37aa64d3fba4:disqus The way this particular game works is that every player chooses a character. Each character is given a separate character sheet that tells them specific information about activities that they were doing and what they saw other characters did. Play proceeds with each

Probably. But that doesn't particularly bother me. If I met someone with Asperger's who desired a romantic interest and whose focus of interest was something I'd get into, that would be perfectly fine. Actually, if I found an Asperger's person into Godzilla, I'd possibly be into heaven.

@avclub-5c7646b1d39fc0715f330479e4e5f254:disqus Glad to hear it. So looking forward to Thursday night! I'm just curious if there's any romance which gets destroyed. Because it can't truly be a Whedon thing unless one happy couple sees the other member dead at some point.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus I'm really sorry to hear that things haven't improved for you. I really am wishing the best for you and hope that things manage to turn around sometime. They have to. At least, I'd hope they have to.

Glad you had fun with the TNG Mystery. It made a very memorable Thanksgiving the year I played it, with even my grandpa managing to get into it. Personally, I always loved every time someone had to say "wibble wobble wibble wobble" for the orb. Were you able to play the cassette that was included with the game?

This was once again a bit of a relatively light week in pop culture for me. Even
worse, my date that I had on Monday was just okay. I was attracted to her, but
the conversation was a very one sided one where she had the ability to talk
about her three obsessions of Buffy, theater, and Harry Potter at the speed of
an
