@avclub-eb573591cef285c12701571987b08381:disqus  The question is, does The Blues Brother feature a Chicago building that was finished in 1977-1980? Because that seems to be the criteria for inclusion.

What I'm personally impressed to see is that, for once, NBC is actually on top on a night that football isn't on. Both The Voice and Smash were legitimate hits last night, and not just hits by NBC's low standards. Whether this holds up for them in the long run or was just born out of initial post Super Bowl interest

@avclub-3b5e2c9be5002e87e0477099db5ff21b:disqus  Yeah, Nabin's Gateways to Geekery articles were among some of the shortest around. For one of the more controversial short ones, it's worth looking for the one on G-Funk.

Are you serious?! You are retroactively blowing my mind.

It's a bit of a shame to hear that Red Hook Summer isn't that good, but I am still a bit tempted to see it. Not because of it being a Spike Lee film, which could be hit or miss, but because I'm actually soon to be taking a class taught by the co-writer. It's not often you get to say that you've seen a film that one of

Honestly, I was sold on seeing this just to see Ron Swanson say the words moist pussy. I think that would probably be my most mind blowing moment of the year.

@avclub-7adb6a50e7687b45a00b35796f18f17d:disqus  Harry's Law's ratings might have been decent for its first season. But this time around, they've been really dire, at least about the level of Prime Suspect. There's no chance that it has any chance of surviving even in the blackhole that is NBC.

@avclub-f9480b6e092115185f23eaa12d5e3fac:disqus  Actually, NBC wouldn't do that, just because Chuck's ratings this season have been just as godawful as the ones for The Firm.

@avclub-1f5b519cde67ac0d0fcab419aa3048a4:disqus  You'd think that, and yet somehow, if I'm remembering correctly, this film did not make the shortlist for the Foreign Language Oscar. Somehow, it was close, but yet no cigar.

The world is dying to know: what are numbers 11 and 27?

Well, this is probably going to be too low to be seen by many people and will probably inspire it's own Newswire post at some point, but it is official that Work It has been canceled after just two episodes. So, at least we can take a small degree of solace in one godawful comedy somehow being far too stupid and

@avclub-a1967e6de4ca99fb2635d94b99453928:disqus  Even though I haven't personally seen it, I'd be willing to be that the real outlier of Raimi's career is For Love Of The Game. That honestly seems like a more WTF for Raimi to  have done over the Spider-Man films, which did at least have some of his stylistic choices

I'll third that. Although, I thought it was coming out in November, not December.

@avclub-eee6e49e09ab1c283e2d7689d45a7b4b:disqus  That's actually one of the things you're really not supposed to do when auditioning for a musical. What I've read about it is that doing that presupposes what role you'd like rather than leave it up to the director to decide what your voice is suited for. Whether

@avclub-fb774c19f3511a5af40b08978b1d6764:disqus  The only reason I can think of is just the fact that NBC has given no indication of when they'd bring it on in the spring. It does sound really interesting though, although I'm actually now a bit more interested in Smash then I was before.

The big surprise for me is that The Grey is listed as the film to anticipate for January when it's fairly obvious that it should be Haywire. I mean, Steven Soderburgh temaed up with Lem Dobbs with a kickass heroine sounds far cooler than Liam Neeson kicking ass. And I say this as someone who has seen Taken. It's okay,

@avclub-f3df38bea0571d15e376bda9c1245e59:disqus  Unfortunately, it's far easier for the developed world to have dictators in power in the developing world in order to have more of a chance for control. Sure, you'll get a rogue like Saddam Hussein or Castro once in awhile. But compared to the risks you get of having a

Secondary meaning high school aged, or grades 9-12.

I definitely wouldn't go that far, but my opinion is a bit lowered on your critical viewpoints. I agree wholeheartedly with Scott that the root of the film was the love of film. Everything else was completely secondary. And I think it, along with The Artist, got at a lot of the joys and wonder that cinema at its best
