Likable Andy is a comedic black hole that destroys everything around it down to its component subatomic particles. MAKE ANDY A DOUCHBAG OR GTFO.

I hope they keep dialing up the Andy assholishness to 11. I don't need to root for everyone in that office and having Andy end up alone in the manager's office with everyone hating him would be an excellent bookend to the series. Plus it will mean the end of the horrible Andy/Erin gack, which is nice.

Yeah, without the early Jim/Pam stuff, I'm not even sure the show would have made past mid-S2. The entire marketing campaign of S3 was about them.

Andy's explanation of how his family earned its fortune as "the immoral middlemen" of the slave trade made me laugh. I hope the turn Andy into an even bigger douche. Not everyone on the show has to be a good person.

But the idea that they are perfect for each other lead them to four seasons of nothing for them to do and is an unrealistic literary concept. No couple in the world is completely without trouble.

I don't think many of those folks seem too suicidal, but given the lousy writing in recent years I wouldn't be surprised. A completely unearned dramatic turn would be typical these days.

And given that they spend their days spinning a prize wheel or practicing to be a news anchor or pretending to be the Taliban, it's not really that boring of a job is it? Now, if they actually had to do some real work there might be some real tension about Jim's decision.

While the departure of Steve Carell didn't help, the show had lost its way long before the end of S7. There are vast portions of S6 that were just as poorly written as last year and Michael Scott was around for all of them.
