Not for me. I couldn't care less about the emotional lives of those characters although I love both shows.

Except NBC's Thursday night ratings would be absolutely in the tank and all four of the shows would be cancelled. The Office is the only show they have that isn't pulling CW level audiences.

Yes, she did, which makes this current "Erin pines for Andy" story even more infuriating.

Watching the wedding episode from S6, which was co-written by Daniels and Kaling, tells me a lot about the state of the show these days. You can almost see the transition from his sort reality based bits to her "OMG, this is funny" contributions. The Chris Brown/Youtube ripoff is the most obvious, but Kevin's kleenex

And you think Pam dying would be a wise stylistic choice? The only real drama this show has ever explored realistically was the will they/won't they story with Jim and Pam and really the stakes there were pretty low. Everything else has been fairly sitcommish with the possible exception of the Michael/Holly which I

While Lieberstein/Kaling/Novak are original members of the writing staff, there has been significant turnover in the rest of the staff and most significantly the migration of Schur and Daniels to Parks and Rec. Three new writers were added this season and at least two more last year. Pretty sure that is the cause of

Why not throw some zombies in there as well? Why is The Office the only comedy where people expect there to be huge dramatic stakes involved? Does anyone care about Jeff and Annie on Community? Or does the Leslie/Ben hookup on Parks and Rec really make you want to write fanfic? Since the writers have lost the ability

Why do you keep hanging on to the belief there is going to be some big payoff for the Scranton Strangler story? The last mention of it was last season in a 2 second joke by Toby during the Dundies. And making Gabe the strangler would be one coincidence too far for my tastes.

I've said this before, but I'm convinced they are trying to shift to the less stringent mockumentary format Parks and Rec uses.

Second funny episode in a row for me. I think it's expecting too much for this show to have a lot of heart as it did in S1-3. That was balanced on the troubles of Jim and Pam while the other characters remained as wacky counterpoints. They've tried to shift others into that role (Michael/Holly or Andy/Erin), but those

BJ Novak was one of the first people Greg Daniels brought onto the show and that was primarily as a writer. His presence in the credits is due to that.

I'm convinced the creators look at the online commentary and say "Wait, they bought that? Okay, try this!"

You think these writers can do math? I'm surprised they can breathe without written reminders.

This show is the best new comedy on TV this year. I was praying that the existence of the Japanese revenge mentor last week meant that Emily was going to be revealed as a secret ninja because that was the most ridiculous thing I could think of and then this week opens with her in martial arts training with her sensei.

Oh, okay.

MY STADY appears to have some issues to work through that they are projecting onto others.

You think they are going to put Andy and Catherine Tate together? Wow, you might want to check the web for some of the rumors about what Tate will be doing on the show. Let's just say it isn't Andy she will be involved with.

You seem to have a reading comprehension problem if you think those two were describing their fear of black people rather than just the general concept. That's okay though. The internet allows for all kinds of stupid.

I think it was supposed to be a mixture of both. He started out flailing around for anything to get out of the situation, but by the end was giving his genuine feelings. I didn't hate it, but I can see how people would be annoyed. Of course I still like the two characters unlike most folks around here.

We do know her name and the explanation for why she is there though. She is Pam's replacement, Kathy. She was introduced, ironically, in the Pam's Replacement episode. The only difference was they moved her away from Pam's desk for the Gettysburg episode. They just haven't given her any dialog yet.
