"a prostitute with a heart of gold and the mouth of a sailor, played by Firefly’s Morena Baccarin" *purchases ticket*

"I think I'm doing okay for a 15 year old with a wife and a baby."

Yep. I think it wasn't included because "parodies that still hold up" implies older movies. Walk Hard is still less than 10 years old.

It's a funny movie.

"Hey, Ace, I'll have a popcorn, Milk Duds, and a whitefish."

"Hey, you wanna make some cash?"
"One at time, or both of ye tegether?"

Love for Johnny Dangerously.

Michael Douglas watches intently.

SNL loves ratings, just like every other TV show.

Parody is what you do when you don't have the talent to come up with something good and original.

Two or three episodes of GI Joe show up. Lady J always had trouble keeping that army shirt buttoned.

*insert racist/homophobic lyric from "One in a Million"*

I cannot avoid smiling while reading this article. Luckily, I watched those videos, and now my urge to kill is rising, rising…

I think the first two seasons were an amazing commentary on audience fascination with anti-heroes. "You want to root for this idiot/sociopath? Okay, here's what happens…"

The U2 guest appearance here, especially the denouement, was one of the best in the history of the series, especially for non-actors. I love Edge lamenting "Aw, here we go." I get the feeling he thinks that to himself pretty much any time Bono opens his mouth. And Adam Clayton's line readings were top quality.

Rare Exports is an amazing Santa Claus-based horror film.

"villainous toy-company head MacMillan in Penny Marshall’s Big"

The riff, a bit. As a whole, I don't see much similarity. The very first time I heard "Sex Type Thing," I thought a new Alice in Chains album was on the way.

On Core, the band seemed to just pick a different Seattle sound for each song. "Sex Type Thing" was reminiscent of Alice in Chains, "Plush" = Pearl Jam, "Creep" = Nirvana. At the time, they didn't seem very original. However, they found their groove as their careers went on.

It's about time someone took down that cocky Stephen Hawking.
