I assume he only agreed to be there and do a classic if he also got to do his new one as well. If that really was the case then the organisers should have haggled harder and gotten a Wham reunion out of the deal.

I realised last night that I can't hear West End Girls now without thinking of Flight of the Conchord's Inner City Pressure.

Fully agreed on In Bruges and Tangled (Jarhead's a great film but more or less measured up to what I was expecting). Tangled looked like a solid entry but everything about it worked so much better than it should. Ended up watching it twice in the cinema, which is not easy to do when you're a lone male adult sitting in

I loved that film from the second I saw it on video and it became one of my most-watched films of my pre- and regular teens. Years later my appreciation for it has only grown. It's a brilliant film. Funny, intelligent, scary (well, I don't find the Spider Gremlin scary but I know a couple of friends who can't watch

Mentioning that marks an unfortunate side-effect of this though - a film that you have low expectations of but other people have been surprised by it and told you how great it was and they weren't expecting much but were really surprised… So your expectations go up for it and then you end up being slightly
