So happy to see all the Mcii love. It's an absolutely fantastic album. Weight is one of my most played tracks this summer.

I knew I was forgetting one. That's another show with horrible trailers that Todd's reviews made me watch.

I'm imagining Todd and Bryan cackling like old school movie villains.

These have been amazing. Thanks for doing them so well Todd. And for making me watch this, The Americans and Orange in the New Black. I wouldn't have watched any of these shows if it wasn't for your belief that they're great and well worth the time and I've come to deeply enjoy all of them.

The problem isn't Spotify, it's the artists expecting an industry undergoing a massive shift to fix itself overnight. Low incomes from new mediums are pretty much par for the course in the music industry now. It happened during the transition from LPs to cassettes, from cassettes to CDs and again from CDs to

I have the silliest and biggest crush on Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES. Excited for their album to drop in September.

List thread.

Yay for the Hudson love.

I went into the album not having heard any of their previous work and fully expecting to dislike them only to completely fall in love with Modern Vampires of the City. Hannah Hunt and Everlasting Arms might be by most played songs this year.

Ruthless.

It's definitely worth it. Try to watch it on a decent AV setup if you can find one. I first watched it in an indie theatre (IFC in NY) and it was okay. I later watched the Blu Ray in one of the video optimized classrooms on my campus which had a larger and higher res projector than the theatre and it was significantly

Upstream Color is by far the best thing I've seen this year, and I've actually been pretty good at catching the better releases in theaters.

As someone who really enjoys most of FX's better offerings - Justified, The Americans, Louie - should I check out The Bridge?

Every time I think I'm over the cancellation, I see a comment mourning its loss and I get sad again.

This was before I started following the AVClub, so I had no idea. It was nice reading Landgraf's statistical breakdown of the marketing techniques. I'd been otherwise convinced that the naming/marketing was somewhat responsible for the show's unfortunate demise but I'm convinced by the numbers that this was not the

Wait, did this really happen?

Given how many of his previous shows have been met with misfortune, I wouldn't be surprised Fuller had wanted to make this version all along and simply used the budget as a neat political move that allowed him to implement his vision while giving the executives a way out.

This is fantastic.
