Very sad and very mad is a good way to put how I'm feeling right now.

Oh man.
There was the smallest glimmer of hope when I clicked on this notification.

Ah well, in that case enjoy your vacation.

I don't know if you're New York based, but if you are will you have the opportunity to check out Only God Forgives any time soon?

@avclub-eede55069a8d3430b54730901f49c230:disqus I don't think we can use age as a factor in arguing that film is a richer medium. Let's assume for simplicity that modern filmmaking began in the early 20th century. If this is the case, then the films that to this day are considered the pinnacle of the medium were

Your brother in law is an Emmy voter and has only just gotten around to watching Mad Men.

The New Black phrase is a reference to what glossy fashion mags try to do with colors each season. Since black has perpetually been considered the  cool and chic color, editors will say things like white is the new black, or mint is the new black, or oxblood is the new black and so on to suggest a possible trend.

You don't watch Mad Men :(

@Ike1:disqus Again, I can only speak for South Asia. In India and Bangladesh, the shows aired concurrently with the American telecast and is therefore a pretty big hit among viewers of English language television.

Agreed. I take it you've read Tom and Lorenzo's Mad Style color analysis posts.

I was head scratching over why this wouldn't be a reasonable comment before I realized that going to the museum doesn't involve a long walk to the subway with many transfers thereafter for most people.

I'm in agreement. In the beginning of 2013, a few of my friends and I have Facebook thread going where we wondered if the so-called "Golden Age of Television" might be over with Breaking Bad and Mad Men about to end and no contenders for their replacement.

The fact that Jon Hamm for Best Lead and Walter Goggins for Best Supporting haven't gotten Emmys is inexplicable.

I wasn't expecting Chlumsky for Veep. So glad she picked that up. It's been a stellar season for her.

I know I'm supposed to be appalled at the meals Hannibal prepares, but he does it with such obvious finesse and the way the food is shot makes me wish I was at the table.

@avclub-011d0b4fe6835bb3d37ef4e0ea713de6:disqus Oh yes. While I'm sure a lot of the credit also goes to CK for writing the character, I don't doubt for a second that almost no one else could have played her with the deftness and subtlety that Posey brought.

Isn't NCW also a pretty big movie star. Admittedly, the only film role I remember off the top of my head was in Blackhawk Down but I'm sure he's been in other things since.

No dip in quality at all on Justified. It changed more than a little bit from the past three, but it also took the show to new heights.
