You go to the trouble to review all three average-to-pointless albums GD released this year but only 2 of the three superb albums released by Guided by Voices. At least give Bears for Lunch a belated nod.

Ironically, today GBV released their third album of the year featuring the Alien Lanes lineup. Between that and the two solo albums he released this year, I don't think Pollard has an afternoon to redeem Green Day's career.

"Long Distance Call" is a bittersweet episode only because it's the first time the brilliant Charles Beaumont had to depend on another writer to deliver a script. At that time, he was spreading himself thin writing both "Twilight Zone" episodes and film adaptations for Ray Harryhausen and Roger Corman. But within a

Nichols played a similar character in "The Sweet Smell of Success" but with a lot more dimension. Perhaps that's because the character in the film was being asked by Tony Curtis to seduce a potential client/benefactor (can't remember). Unfortunately, that's a dramatic conflict actresses/models/dancers from that era

Despite the gimmicky ending, "Eye of the Beholder" benefits greatly from Maxine Stuart's faceless performance. She powerfully conveys self-loathing and disgust at how she is being treated. Too bad she never returned to "The Twilight Zone." Would have been nice to see her act w/o bandages.

Sorry for the know-it-all post a day later, but Simon Oakland played the psychiatrist in "Psycho" and starred w/ Oscar Beregi in the Season 2 TZ episode "The Rip Van Winkle Caper." For what it's worth, I get him mixed up w/ Claude Akins all the time.
