In Seattle, Ezell's is considered the best. Their truck pulls up to my work once a week. Tough to resist a spicy strip combo.

Also applies to Christopher Columbus who destroyed the entire indigenous population of what is now the Bahamas through forced labor, torture and general sadism but was celebrated for centuries after his crimes were pardoned.

"Ride Captain Ride" by Blues Image.

I like how you referred to Anthony Hopkins without the Sir. As though his portrayal of a fictional "Sir" in this dreck retroactively disqualified him from all titles and honors.

Alternated between TCM, On Demand and Criterion during my Father's Day get-to-be-lazy weekend:

Satanic Request is a really good album. Even though Keith hadn't discovered G chord tuning yet, his blend of acoustic and electric guitars deepens the overall sound nicely. Brian adding exotic sounds from Morocco, rather than India, is inspired. Plus "2000 Man" is one of Mick's best establishment putdowns.

Something Else. None of the other albums discussed open with "David Watts" and close with "Waterloo Sunset".

The Brain Police must have put that idea in your head. Beatles For Sale is not better than Wild Honey or Holland.

Is this the son who played little Jim Morrison? Maybe Putin tempted him with a gig fronting Russia's premiere Doors cover band.

I was very lucky to see REM a number of times in the '80s, all in the LA - Orange County area.

Great minds…

The Who in 1970, the Live at Leeds era. They spent the majority of that year touring Tommy and workshopping new songs that would end up on Who's Next. No live act was sharper or more powerful. Would have also liked to have seen the Clash in '79 as they were coming into their own while previewing London Calling.

70 years (off and on) of Mummy movies and none have topped Karl Freund's original with Karloff. Not even Christopher Lee could convey the malevolence and longing of Ardath Bey. I was happy to see the more recent movies keep the titular character out of bandages,.but even without covering he still seemed too abstract

I think he will end up starring in a network TV reboot of "Hello Larry."

What wasn't amazing was seeing the Neil Diamond remake with my first date. Best line I could come up with after was that my date looked like Neil's co star Lucy Arnaz. Later, she politely allowed a kiss on the cheek and rushed to the door.

I saw Jaws during its second run but saw the other two shortly after they opened. And I do remember feeling like these weren't normal movies. Especially Star Wars; the buzz was inescapable. Titanic came closest to matching it, but Star Wars felt like a real phenomenon.

Same. I was lucky to live in So.Cal when in college and be able to see double features at the (old) New Beverly, the NuArt and the Balboa while renting any classic foreign and arthouse film on VHS from my local Music Plus. Plus I was able to tape from Z Channel during that time. Too bad I couldn't trade my receipts

I would like to have seen "The Magnificent Ambersons" when it first previewed in Pomona, CA and find a way to replace the comment cards with others expressing variations of "powerful, moving, perfectly made film; don't cut a frame."

Musk's ego has probably diminished his wisdom and common sense. Happens to a lot of geniuses and innovators who think they've attained divine charisma after helming their first all hands meeting. He probably thought he could guide Trump out of the dark side by sheer dint of his sunny hubris. Once he realized what he

I'll always wish Night Court had better leveraged Ellen Foley's Clash connections during her time on the show. If she couldn't get ex-beau Mick Jones to bring on Big Audio Dynamite she might have convinced Joe Strummer or Paul Simonon to guest as defendants. Missed opportunity.
