As do I, which is exactly how it should be. In an early episode Cesare even offered to make him captain of his armies if he escaped cardinalhood, but Micheletto rejected it saying he will always be in the shadows. This is a character they could overuse, but they never do, and I respect that.

Definitely the budget's been increased this season - the CGI's more prevalent and they're outside of the school, finding new sets to shoot on. I guess TNT's happy enough with how it's done they can throw more money at it.

I find in circumstances like this, when science is softer, I adopt the MST3K theme song approach: "Just repeat to yourself it's just a show, I should really just relax."

I thought about that, but I couldn't remember any specific examples - I only watched the season last month so it's comparatively fresh in my mind. I have a hunch he was but I can't cite when, though I predict we'll get a flashback to explain it.

I agree "Shall We Gather At The River" was the stronger of the two installments. The first one had to be a bit fragmented to get Tom back to the fold, while the second one gave more indication of how the show works on a weekly basis.

Like a lot of first seasons, it was trying out things that worked and things that didn't, and based on these episodes I think they're starting to get a handle on that.

Tyrion Lannister fighting aliens. Why is no one developing that show?

Really? Groan. I found that character very irritating after a while.

I don't think it was surprise per se, more nervousness that Savonarola called his calling his bluff. And perhaps a tiny sliver of fear that maybe he actually would walk through fire successfully.

Dr. Faye was Mrs. Moltisanti! I'll be damned. Given Matt Weiner wrote or co-wrote three of the episodes she appeared in, he clearly remember her when casting a Don Draper love interest.

I can see that argument. It's definitely something that's never been directly addressed until now.
