Honestly, it's far from the greatest series. It's good enough, but not earth shattering. Ground breaking, whatever.
I'm mostly keeping it on because it's fun to see it gradually improve from okay to fun-but-not-fantastic, gain its own voice, and to support women creators. Women have gotten a bad rap lately.

I think the latest canonisation has been Dzhokhar Tsarev. There's a #FreeJahar thing on Tumblr and Twitter that is basically "the FBI orchestrated it and Tsarev was the fall guy. We know this because he's white and attractive." It's pretty sickening.
