FWIW, I thought the first one of the reboots was really good and fun, and thought "Dawn…", the new one, sucked in comparison.
Edge of Tomorrow, GotG, even Capt. America were all pleasant surprises. If you like action/martial arts movies, I can't recommend The Raid 2 (or the first one) highly enough.
D is for Daryl
Funny anecdote. I had a kind of similar encounter, at a signing he did for Timequake. Dude was pretty old at that point and probably wasn't that jazzed about signing hundreds of books at the NYC union square Barnes and noble at this stage of his career. As he signed my copy I said "just wanted to say that Cat's Cradle…
Yeah that was a pretty clueless remark by McFarland, would've been nice to see him do his homework there. ND has in fact been playing numerous big 10 teams each year, and now for example will be playing Florida State and Louisville next year, GA tech and Clemson the year after, etc. Fact is the Big 10 Network now…
Agreed. You wouldn't patronize a coffee shop or gas station run by a pedophile, right? But Cappadocius' comment kind of reinforces my point. There's a difference between patronizing the art of a pedophile vs. the art known assholes. Thankfully there are not that many artists also known to be child abusers, so I…
Totally agree that this kind of 'filtering' should be occurring at an institutional level, e.g. the music people at venues should screen this stuff.
I know but that's not worth a lot to me when there have been so many kids coming out and saying he abused them. It's the same rationale that let so many abusive priests keep doing what they were doing (including a couple in the parish I grew up in). "Well, we don't know he did anything for sure." "They're just kids,…
If sexual abuse of kids is one of the worst, if not the worst, things you can do to another person, why are we slow to boycott the work of these fiends? Why do we still hear Gary Glitter songs at ballgames? Why is Michael Jackson being lionized when he dies or revered by Lady Gaga on Stern the other day? Why are…
Just a bush league move by her.
I'd like to see LaBeouf have unsimulated sex with a rabid bear protecting her cubs.
Yeah I agree man. Wish this article had said, "Bands should put out music until they don't want to, and fans should buy their albums and go to their concerts until they don't want to." Would have saved us all some time.
Edith was an early adopter of the 'Snout to Tail' movement. Many Brooklyn restaurants now feature kidney souffle on the menu.
That new kitchen maid is smoking hot compared to Edith. Hottest to nottest (40 and under crowd):
1. Sybil
2. Lavinia
3. Mary
4. Jane, the maid who made out with Lord G.
5. New kitchen maid
6. Daisy
7. Anna
8. Ethel the Annoying Hooker
9. O'Brien
10. Edith
Really not sure what the author is driving at here: "Nothing about the timing of Miracle’s release was accidental. Ostensibly a dramatization of the gold-medal run by the 1980 U.S. Olympic men’s hockey team, Miracle opened 14 years after the moment that was dubbed “the miracle on ice,” and not so long after the…
See I thought that scene was an example of "Spielberging it up" by the director. Same with that senator from Kentucky spazzing out when he voted on the amendment. Really well done movie for the most part, and DDL was awesome as always, but Spielberg has a way of reminding me several times per film that I'm a guy…

I thought Arbitrage was really disappointing, particularly the 2nd half of it. 2 hours I'd love to have back.

Kind of gross that he's sleeping that close to his mom though. I could see same room, MAYBE same bed but on the far end…
