To be fair, I haven't listened to the entire doom discography, but I was left cold by mm food, born this way, key to the cuffs and something else I'm not remembering right now.

The most impressive thing about this record to me? I've hated every Doom album I've ever heard, but LOVE this one. It is so much better than the sum of its parts.

There was some craziness on that Clones album. In addition to LYAOF, Blaze of Glory and Hot were certified bangers as well, and even Hot Damn although that beat wasn't much different than the version on Lord Willin'

I know its about as far removed from pop as possible, but nothing he does will ever be than the beats he and Chad cooked up for Hell Hath No Fury. About as perfect a rap album as has been ever created.

Not a terribly busy week, but you all should be on the
lookout for a new EP from Black Milk called “Glitches in the Break”. 9 tracks
clocking in at 24 minutes, the production is similar to NPNP, but with less
polish. You can hear the cracks and pops from the samples, but it just adds to
the atmosphere. I love Black when

I largely agree with the text of the review, and would give the album a strong B+. I've never been a huge fan Ross' "luxury rap" leanings, so going with a blueprint that features more rough edges is right up my alley. Ross is obviously playing a character, but this is probably the most convincing he's played that

it is indeed an FXX show, as The Americans is premiering at 10 on regular old FX. Hopefully someone throws that extra X into the article.

Whoops, completely forgot about Lord Steppington. Enjoyed that one quite a bit as well. Alc not quite at his best, but a lot of good stuff on there, and he and Evidence show some nice chemistry on this joint.

Think AV Club reviews Pinata? For some reason i think there's a chance.

Huh, did not know Tef Poe moonlighted at as a newspaper blogger. And yeah, he shouldn't quit his dayjob. The album is still really good, though.

Alright, our quarterly Rap review! Can’t really be too mad though, Oxymoron is the only significant release so far this year.

Man, i don't think i've ever been more furious at the AV Club than when that got skipped. I understand why they skip shit like Run the Jewels, because they're so far off the mainstream radar, and Hip-Hop isn't exactly this sites bread and butter, i get it. But Pusha's album getting skipped left me mad. And i know i'm

See, i love the gangster shit, so this album hit a sweet spot with me. I love listening to rap by the "bad guys" that give a different spin on the character, and not necessarily a positive one. Part of the reason i love Pusha T's album so much is BECAUSE there are no redeeming factors, its essentially an album made by

Just need to say that "The Grind Date" is incredibly overlooked. That was actually my first exposure to De la.

Big Boi and Andre 3000. "B.O.B." was the song that really got me into hip hop, and Outkast has been my favorite artists ever since, turning me into the crazy hip hop obsessive I am today. Either half of that gateway passing on will wreck me something terrible.

The down votes are just sad people who need to start watching Rick and Morty.

I think that level of vitriol is incredibly rare though. The prevailing
opinion that i've seen is Macklemore is a mediocre rapper who has a great hustle, but was unfairly given an award over the most celebrated rap album in
recent memory. And that he comes off as kind of a tool for publishing
the text, but thats the

I agree, its absolutely a combination of whiteness and content. I mean, i don't see Mac Miller or Asher Roth with grammys on their mantles.

A large reason Macklemore was so popular and sold so many records IS his race. I don't think it was a conscious decision to reward the white guy, but if The Heist was Kendricks album, no way it goes plat or wins anything.

Actually, a decent example. Clearly superior song, accepted but not nearly to the same level as same love, which was everywhere. No grammy love. And Franks doesn't even have the attached stigma of being a rapper.
