yeah, where i grew up the terms were "whitewashed" for Asians who "acted white", and the opposite was "FOB" (Fresh Off the Boat). God, even in a pretty diverse and tolerant area, kids are still the worst.

My hip-hop obsession started in 2000/2001, so this never made my list of classics to go back and search out. Should i try to find it, or am i better off just letting it go? I have listened to Marauders and Low-End, although i haven't given the latter a spin quite a few years now, might need to change that…

My Review: Fucking Awesome. Grade: A

4th quarter has been VERY strong for rap releases so far. A few of my favs from the last couple months:
Black Milk - No Poison, No Paradise
Might be Black's best yet, a semi-biographical concept album detailing the upbringing and early adulthood of a fictional "Sonny", it's easily Black's best effort so far lyrically,

Man, i haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, but if the rest of the album sounds like Berzerk or Rap God, no way in hell is this reaching a B. While Rap God is indeed a great showcase of Em's technical skill, it just felt like empty calories when i listened, nothing that stuck with me, and the beat being so bad

Unfortunately, those ships have SAILED. Which is a shame, I was looking forward to the discussion.

I understand that DLH was a huge draw in his own right. I'm not saying that Floyd and Manny are the only 2 small guy draws ever, just the only 2 currently.

I can't speak on UFC, and i'm not sure how relevant they are to this discussion anyway since its such a relatively "new" sport, but Mayweather and Pacquiao's level of success is largely BECAUSE the Heavyweight scene is so dire. If the Heavyweight division was humming like in the 90's with Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson,

@avclub-0108709d613bc1d1db7e5c2b5f02c657:disqus Similar with me, i was a football fanatic from a young age, having memorized the entire 1989 49ers offensive unit at 3 and a half years old. My most watched video at that age was one of those championship season recaps from nfl films of the 1988 49ers. My parents didn't

Ha! And thanks for reminding me, I need to go hunt down a copy of that Oddisee release.

I agree about Drama being the least annoying of mixtape DJ's, but while he may be the least of all evils, a mixtape without him is still an improvement.

Well, Fuck. Disqus/AV Club ate my comment and made it disappear. I posted like 4 links to various songs, so i'm assuming i set off some spam alarm or something, but still, fuck man.

I haven't gotten around to it, because i was hearing some not so nice things about it and decided to put it on the back burner. I guess i need to move it to the front of the queue.

Since we last spoke, here’s what I’ve been listening too, conveniently separated into categories.

Agreed about the greatness of Justin Smith, but Aldon is a monster regardless. Especially in that Seattle game, he was beating the left tackle and double teams without Justin Smith being involved at all. Would he be as dominant without Justin? Of course not, but Istill think Aldon would be a 15-16 sack guy and one of

My friend actually promoted the party that Smith was at Thursday night. Apparently Bowman was there too and putting away an impressive amount of booze. And Brooks has had dui issues In the past, too. So yeah, aside from Willis that's an alcoholic dream team.

Hard to argue. Currently, however:
Smith
Bowman
Willis
Brooks
